Job DescriptionPrimary Purpose: Manage the accounting needs of the Brokerage Department including account management & reconciliation, commission processing, & other duties as assigned. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. • Process and reconcile all commissions for every carrier the Brokerage Department uses., • Process & Reconcile account for current statements for all managing general agent (MGA) relationships., • Serve as the liaison between the Brokerage Department and Accounting Department., • Continually evaluate the commission processing method to ensure efficiency & agent satisfaction., • Assist in the processing of quarterly county overrides., • Back up other desks in Brokerage & Agency as needed., • Answer phones and take messages as needed. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization., • Mathematical Skills, • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage and to draw and interpret bar graphs., • Reasoning Ability, • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations., • Computer Skills, • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of computers and computer systems including hardware and software., • Other Skills and Abilities, • 10-Key skills and typing skills are required. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is required to sit more than 50% of the time. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk around the office to perform various tasks. The employee must occasionally be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
