Together, let's redefine what is possible in orbit and beyond! Terran Orbital is seeking an experienced Sr. Test Systems Engineer to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the Manager, Systems Integration & Test Engineering, the Sr. Test Systems Engineer will work within a multidisciplinary team designing test tools and processes, executing assembly and test procedures for modules and spacecraft, troubleshooting issues, and implementing fixes. Key Duties and Responsibilities • Work with production scheduling and various engineering teams to bring a test system design from design phase to product testing, • Work hand in hand with EGSE build team to bring test systems to production testing, • Draw EGSE harnessing and test system diagrams for production testing (Visio, SolidWorks, etc.), • Plan and write automated testing programs at both the module and vehicle level, • Work with design engineers to debug, test, and implement changes to hardware, • Write, review, and execute qualification and acceptance test plans, • Develop and refine manufacturing assembly procedures based on lessons learned to mature status, • Support Software Regression testing on modules and complete systems, • Support test systems for environmental testing with thermal chambers, vibration tables, and thermal vacuum chambers., • Working in a cleanroom on flight hardware for extended periods, • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical discipline, • Master's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline, • Experience with build integration and testing of propulsion, thermal, electrical, and structural systems, including, but not limited to, vibration, shock, thermal, vacuum, and radiation testing, • 5+ years of experience in test system design (Electrical & Mechanical), • 5+ years of experience in harness manufacturing and design, • Familiarity with PXI architecture, • Familiarity with PCI/PCIe architecture, • Knowledge of test instrumentations ( i.e. thermocouples, thermal chambers, accelerometers, DAQs, NI Chassis, ect.), • Documentation and configuration management experience, • Experience writing test plans and procedures and providing go/no-go judgment, • Experience in a production environment within the aerospace industry, • Experience working in a laboratory setting, particularly a cleanroom with ESD precautions, • Experience with electrical debugging of PCB Assemblies, including the ability to read electrical schematics, • Programming in Python, LabVIEW, bash/shell script, or C, • 100% Company-paid comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage for you and your dependents, • 401(k) Match, • Flexible Time Off (FTO), • Education Reimbursement Terran Orbital is a leading manufacturer of satellite products primarily serving the aerospace and defense industries.
