Job DescriptionJob Title: Maintenance Technician Job Description We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to perform preventative and predictive maintenance on electrical apparatus, motors, wiring, electronic components, refrigeration systems, building infrastructure, and material handling equipment. The successful candidate will utilize a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for work order logging and reporting. Responsibilities • Conduct preventative and predictive maintenance on electrical apparatus, motors, wiring, and electronic components., • Maintain refrigeration systems, building infrastructure, and material handling equipment., • Utilize a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for logging and reporting work orders., • Read and interpret Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID)., • Troubleshoot issues and perform preventive maintenance on ammonia, Freon, and CO2 systems., • Monitor contractors for regulatory and safety compliance, especially around refrigeration systems., • Ensure compliance with Working at Height regulations where required.Essential Skills, • Mechanical maintenance experience (3+ years) with motorized lifts, warehouse, processing, and/or manufacturing equipment or equivalent trade school experience., • Industrial refrigeration experience (2+ years) with ammonia, Freon, and/or CO2 systems or equivalent trade school experience., • Proficient in pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems., • Basic level electrical instrumentation experience., • Proficient computer skills in Word and Excel., • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to deliver technical results to non-technical audiences.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Completion of Refrigeration Operator 1 course and/or CARO or equivalent within 6 months of hire., • Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills., • Experience operating, inspecting, calibrating, and maintaining equipment using onsite motorized lifts.Why Work Here? Work Environment The work environment includes exposure to extreme temperatures, ranging from -20°ree;F/-25°ree;C in cold storage to 100°ree;F/37°ree;C in dry storage, with required PPE. Comfortable working with various noise levels, sometimes loud. The day shift is from 7:30am to 4:00pm, and once fully trained, rotational on-call duties will be required. The role also involves lifting a minimum of 40 lbs. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Des Moines, Iowa. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
