Job DescriptionJob Title: Low Voltage Lead Technician Job Description The Low Voltage Lead Technician is responsible for overseeing and executing the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of low voltage systems, including security systems, fire alarms, audio/visual systems, telecommunications, and networking. This position requires technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with team members and clients. The lead technician will work remotely, completing low voltage system installations in Iowa and surrounding Midwest areas. Responsibilities • Install, diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair complex low voltage systems independently to solve problems and meet project deadlines., • Interact directly with clients, providing technical support and ensuring compliance with industry standards., • Complete training on various systems and perform turnkey installations as needed, including Structured Cabling, Access Control, Video Surveillance, and more., • Install, diagnose, maintain, and repair complex malfunctions in low voltage systems such as IP and analog cameras, video management software, and access control systems., • Provide technical expertise and guidance to clients and team members., • Conduct system upgrades and implement new technologies., • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals., • Develop solutions to complex problems, often requiring independent judgment., • Communicate effectively with clients, vendors, and other stakeholders., • Ensure compliance with industry standards, local codes, and safety regulations.Essential Skills, • 3+ years of experience in the installation and service of Structured Cabling, Video Surveillance, and Access Control., • 1+ years of experience in the installation and service of Fire Alarm Systems., • Basic computer skills, with knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, and Outlook being very helpful., • Good writing and communication skills., • Excellent customer service and professional demeanor., • Ability to work well with little to no supervision, both individually and in a team environment.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Self-starter with great initiative and drive., • Willingness to learn new systems and take on complex technology projects., • Ability to collaborate with other trades and contractors on multi-disciplinary projects., • Willingness to travel within the region and out of state to complete projects for national clients as needed, with prior notice.Why Work Here? Work Environment The role involves working remotely on commercial properties, often requiring travel to job sites within Iowa from Monday to Friday. The central location is in DSM, where a new office is being opened to accommodate future local work. Travel expenses and daily per diem are covered. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Des Moines, Iowa. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $40.00/hr.
