Job DescriptionProduction Supervisor Location: Los Angeles, CA 90065 Compensation: $[70,000] – $[80,000] (Depending on experience) About the Role The Production Supervisor oversees daily manufacturing activities, ensuring production targets, quality standards, and safety requirements are consistently met. This role bridges real-time execution with planning, coordinating closely with Supply Chain, Quality, Engineering, and other cross-functional teams. You will lead, coach, and develop production technicians, maintain compliance with SOPs and GMP requirements, and support operational excellence through data-driven decision making. This is a critical leadership role for driving throughput, efficiency, and a high-performance culture. Key Responsibilities Production Leadership & Execution • Lead, supervise, and coordinate daily production activities for assigned shift., • Assign work orders, monitor throughput, and ensure adherence to production schedules., • Verify and approve batch records for accuracy and GMP compliance., • Maintain strict safety, PPE, and SOP compliance on the production floor., • Ensure production lines are staged with correct materials, labels, equipment, and documentation., • Support onboarding, training, and cross-training of production technicians., • Monitor equipment status; coordinate repairs and communicate downtime impacts., • Manage technician attendance, timecards, and schedule adjustments. Planning & Operational Coordination • Partner with Production Management, Supply Chain, Procurement, Sales, and Logistics to align schedules with material availability and forecasted demand., • Track raw material usage, WIP levels, and finished-goods output; maintain ERP updates., • Maintain production KPIs (throughput, downtime, yield, scrap, schedule adherence) and escalate risks or trends., • Provide input on production capacity, labor needs, and process optimization opportunities. Quality, Compliance & Continuous Improvement • Ensure production activities meet all regulatory, quality, safety, and documentation requirements., • Partner with Quality and Engineering on deviations, non-conformances, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions., • Drive 5S, Lean, and continuous improvement practices across the production floor., • Uphold a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence. Communication & Team Collaboration • Serve as the primary communication link between technicians and cross-functional teams., • Deliver clear shift handoff reports summarizing output, downtime, quality issues, and priorities., • Participate in production and cross-functional meetings to share updates and insights., • Foster a positive, collaborative, high-performance team environment. Required Qualifications • 3+ years of experience in resin, chemical, or process manufacturing., • Proven leadership experience in a production or manufacturing environment., • Strong knowledge of batch records, GMP, and quality control processes., • Experience with production scheduling, resource coordination, and workflow management., • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP systems (Odoo or similar)., • Strong Excel/data-analysis skills (pivot tables, lookups, charts)., • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. Preferred Qualifications • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field., • Experience in regulated manufacturing environments (ISO 13485, MDSAP)., • Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, or basic SPC methods., • Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous-improvement methodologies.
