Metro Job Type Regular, Full-Time Reports To Site Superintendent/PM Classification Salaried, Non-Exempt Experience 1 – 5 years Education college or equivalent Travel Regional, jobsite-based Compensation $55,000 – $65,000 annually Position Description Assigned to a field operations team, the Field Engineer assists in obtaining, evaluating, and coordinating the information needed to construct the project in accordance with contract documents. The Field Engineer ensures that work meets all safety standards, is within schedule requirements, and is constructed to the highest level of quality possible. This position is jobsite-based across THG’s active projects in the Baltimore/D.C. metropolitan area, including THG’s ongoing work on the Pimlico Race Course Redevelopment with Clark Construction, and offers a defined promotion track to Assistant Superintendent or Assistant Project Manager. Essential Duties & Responsibilities • Perform line and grade work for building layout and control as required., • Assist in the implementation of the site safety program as required., • Ensure subcontractor compliance with THG and general contractor safety standards and applicable safety codes and regulations., • Assist in the maintenance of contract documents and electronic web-based documents (Procore, Bluebeam Revu) for field operations., • Assist in the preparation of Daily Construction Reports (DCRs), including labor, materials, weather, deliveries, and incidents., • Review work as it is being placed to be sure it is accurate and within accepted tolerances., • Review contract drawings, specifications, and shop drawings to ensure proper coordination and installation., • Assist in the preparation of project as-builts and closeout documentation., • Support material take-offs, deliveries, staging, and jobsite organization., • Participate in and help document toolbox talks, pre-task planning, and safety meetings., • Assist in the protection and promotion of the interests of THG Companies LLC and its clients in all related matters., • Other activities, duties, and responsibilities as assigned. Compensation The salary range for this position is estimated to be $55,000 – $65,000 annualized, depending on experience and credentials. Top of range reserved for candidates approaching promotion-readiness to Assistant Superintendent. An annual bonus opportunity is available based on individual and project performance. A sign-on bonus is available for qualified candidates. Qualifications • Two years of college education from an accredited degree program in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field — or equivalent commercial construction experience., • 1 – 5 years of commercial construction, building construction, or engineering experience preferred., • Prior experience on federal, state, city, or institutional job sites (GSA, USACE, Baltimore City, JHU, UMMS) is a plus., • Must have good interpersonal skills and the ability to work within a team., • Demonstrated initiative and a desire to learn., • Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing., • Proficient with computer applications, data entry, and the Microsoft 365 suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)., • Basic understanding of Procore, Bluebeam Revu, and construction scheduling programs (MS Project or Primavera P6), desired., • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification, or willingness to obtain within 90 days of hire., • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel between jobsites across the Baltimore/D.C. metropolitan area., • Ability to pass background checks and security clearance for government and institutional facilities.
