The Director will serve as a key leader within MISS DIG 811, responsible for shaping and executing the organization’s education, member services, and outreach strategies. This role plays a critical part in advancing MISS DIG 811’s mission by promoting safe digging practices, enhancing member engagement, and leading public awareness efforts. The Director will play a key role in fostering collaboration, driving new ideas, and ensuring that MISS DIG 811 remains a trusted statewide partner in safety and infrastructure development. Key Responsibilities • Lead the planning, development, and execution of educational programs, events, and outreach campaigns promoting 811 awareness and damage prevention., • Oversee all external communications, ensuring consistent, safety-centered messaging across digital, media, and community channels., • Build and maintain relationships with utility members, municipalities, contractors, legislators, and public safety organizations to advance MISS DIG 811’s mission., • Serve as one of the organization’s spokespersons at industry conferences, media engagements, and community events., • Develop and implement strategies to enhance member engagement, satisfaction, and collaboration., • Monitor program performance and outreach effectiveness; analyze data to improve member and public education initiatives., • Partner across departments to ensure alignment between external affairs activities and organizational goals., • Lead and mentor the Education, Member Services, and Outreach teams to ensure high performance and unified messaging., • Represent MISS DIG 811 in state and national damage prevention committees and associations., • Perform other duties as assigned by the CEO.
