Position Summary The Patient Access Representative (PAR) position is a multi-tiered role responsible for facilitating the patient experience at Ocean Health Initiatives. This role encompasses a range of patient-facing and administrative duties, from initial registration and greeting patients to financial screening, scheduling, and supporting the broader clinical operations. Financial Screener Specific Duties Performs all Patient Liaison responsibilities, including patient check-in, appointment scheduling, and insurance verification. Demonstrates an understanding of all workflows and provides support as needed to ensure smooth operations. • Screen patients for eligibility for the sliding fee scale, insurance programs, government assistance, and NJCEED, completing the necessary intake and consent forms, and submitting NJCEED documentation for eligible patients., • Collect and verify financial information from patients, including income, household size, and insurance status, to support applications for financial assistance and ensure compliance with governing agency requirements., • Complete Presumptive Eligibility Applications and follow up with billing and patients to track status until full approval is obtained., • Conduct Household Assessments (HHA) for all OHI patients, ensuring required fields and necessary OHI/Letter of Agreement (LOA) documents are completed and collected, and follow up with incomplete HHA applicants via phone, email, or text to ensure timely submission., • Collaborate with billing to ensure accurate processing of claims and patient accounts and assist patients in completing forms and applications for financial assistance programs., • Professionalism & Patient Interaction: Maintain a respectful, caring, and professional attitude at all times when engaging with patients, staff, and visitors. Introduce yourself to patients, provide clear communication, and respond promptly to patient requests and concerns, ensuring a positive experience throughout their visit. Ensure that all transactions are documented accurately and securely and maintain proper financial records in accordance with company policies., • Compliance & Reporting: Adhere to all OHI policies, corporate compliance standards, and industry regulations. Complete mandatory in-services, participate in required meetings, and ensure adherence to confidentiality and infection control practices. Report incidents, unusual occurrences, and any concerns related to patient care or staff performance to the appropriate management staff in a timely manner., • Performance & Accountability: Ensure that individual performance meets the established goals and key performance indicators (KPIs) for the role. Job DescriptionWe are a well-established, high-volume chiropractic office ONLY HIRING THE BEST CANDIDATES and seeking an energetic, detail-oriented Chiropractic Assistant to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about patient care, enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, and wants to grow professionally in their career. Applicant must have a background in exercise. Whether that is in therapy, personal training, or similar. Position Overview: The Chiropractic Assistant will work closely with our doctors to ensure smooth office flow, excellent patient experiences, and accurate documentation. For the right candidate, we offer full tuition coverage for the New Jersey Chiropractic Assistant licensing course. Once licensed, you will be able to perform patient examinations, directly assist the doctors with care, and earn a higher pay rate plus bonuses. We have had candidates complete the coursework within 6 months. It is a go at your pace course but to continue work at this office, the course must be completed within one year. Office Schedule: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday = 9 am - 1230 / 2:00- 630 pm Friday = 8 am - 12pm Saturday = 830 am - 12pm Wednesday and Sunday closed Pay & Benefits: Here is your path to $30+/hr. • Starting Pay: $24/hour (unlicensed), • Paid training 4 weeks to determine the right candidate for the LCA program, • We pay for your licensing course to become a licensed chiropractic assistant., • Our office is a training facility so all course work aside from online and a few Saturdays in long island are paid for on the job, • Once a Licensed Chiropractic Assistant - Pay increase - $28/hour plus bonuses, • (given our current patient volume you would be making $30/hr, • As patient volume goes up, so does your pay. Licensed Chiropractic Assistant FAQs What is a Licensed Chiropractic Assistant (LCA)? An individual holding a license issued by the New Jersey State Board of Chiropractic Examiners to practice chiropractic assistance under the supervision of a NJ licensed chiropractor. A licensed chiropractic assistant may use the full title or its abbreviation, "LCA." Why should I become an LCA? New Jersey is the first state in the nation to offer individuals the opportunity to attain licensure as a Chiropractic Assistant. The LCA provides an invaluable service to the public, the profession, and patients who seek natural healthcare services. Who can take this training to become an LCA? According to the NJSCB among other requirements an applicant shall be 18 years old or older and have successfully completed high school or its equivalent to be eligible to complete this program. How do I become an LCA? A candidate must be at least 18 years old, be of good moral character, and have successfully completed high school or its equivalent. A candidate is expected to successfully complete 500 hours of training: 120-hours of coursework and 380-hours of clinical training supervised by an approved LCA Clinical Trainer. An application, along with proof of successful completion of the approved training, will need to be submitted directly to the New Jersey State Board of Chiropractic Examiners. The 380-hour clinical training will include, active therapeutic rehabilitative procedures, passive physiotherapeutics, and heath data collection. What if my LCA Clinical Trainer does not use rehabilitation procedures or modalities in their practice? You will need to find an LCA Clinical Trainer to mentor and evaluate this required portion of the training. You can have more than one LCA Clinical Trainer. Each will have to attest to your successful completion of the specific requirements they supervised. How long will it take to become an LCA? The Northeast College of Health Sciences' Licensed Chiropractic Assistant 120-hour training program is designed to be a 12-18 month course of study. A candidate should be able to complete all of the required training within 1-2 years. How much will it cost for me to become an LCA? The approximated cost to become an LCA is $1,500 - $1,600 Northeast/CE 120-hour training course is $1,350.00 There are additional required materials, plus the New Jersey State Board of Chiropractic Examiners' application fee. Do I have to pay an LCA Clinical Trainer to train me? There are no provisions by statute or policy that direct or endorse a fee for the clinical training services the Trainer is providing to the Candidate. Is the LCA Clinical Trainer required to pay me while in training? The Trainer is not required to compensate you while they provide you with the training unless you are their employee; however you may need to be added to their malpractice insurance. Can I have prior experience/credits applied to this course? There is no provision written into the law granting advanced standing for experience nor degree credentialing.
