Job Description Job Title: Maintenance Technician $28-35/hr Job Description This role is responsible for maintaining and improving a large indoor metal manufacturing facility that produces liftgates, including its production equipment, building systems, and common areas. You will work as part of a small, collaborative maintenance team to ensure presses, cranes, welding bays, paint booths, and facility systems operate safely, reliably, and efficiently. Responsibilities • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on metal manufacturing equipment, including presses, cranes, welding bays, and paint booths., • Maintain and repair building systems such as plumbing, electrical, and HVAC to ensure safe and efficient operation of office, production, and public areas., • Use automation knowledge to troubleshoot and repair automated equipment and systems within the facility., • Monitor, diagnose, and resolve mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues on production machinery and facility equipment., • Use a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to document work orders, track maintenance activities, and record parts usage., • Plan and execute maintenance schedules for building systems and production equipment to minimize downtime., • Inspect facilities, machines, and equipment regularly to identify issues and determine necessary repairs., • Collaborate closely with the maintenance team and other departments to prioritize tasks and complete repairs in a timely and cost-effective manner., • Keep accurate records and reports of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs., • Apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills to quickly identify root causes of equipment and facility problems., • Support a safe work environment by following established procedures and reporting hazards or recurring issues. Essential Skills • 3+ years of maintenance mechanic experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment., • Extensive knowledge of building systems, including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC., • Hands-on experience with maintenance of metal manufacturing equipment such as presses, cranes, welding bays, and paint booths., • Working knowledge of facilities, machines, and production equipment., • Experience performing preventive maintenance on mechanical and facility systems., • Practical understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics in a maintenance setting., • Experience with automation systems and equipment troubleshooting., • Ability to use a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to track and document maintenance work., • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for diagnosing complex equipment and facility issues., • Ability to identify issues, determine required repairs, and execute or coordinate those repairs., • Ability to plan and follow maintenance schedules for building systems and equipment., • Strong communication skills with the ability to keep track of and report on maintenance activities. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience working in a metal fabrication, welding, or industrial manufacturing environment., • Familiarity with maintenance practices for paint booths and related ventilation systems., • Ability to work effectively in a small, collaborative maintenance team., • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple work orders and priorities., • Excellent supervisory and management skills that support coordination and guidance of maintenance activities. Work Environment This position is based in a large, all-indoor manufacturing facility that produces liftgates and includes welding, paint, fabrication, and assembly operations. You will work closely with a small maintenance department of about four people, fostering a tight-knit, team-oriented environment. The role focuses on day-to-day maintenance of production equipment and building systems in a metal manufacturing setting. Shift hours are flexible, offering some adaptability in scheduling. The facility environment is industrial, with typical manufacturing conditions and appropriate work attire required to support safety and productivity.
