Job Description Job Title: Mixer Operator Job Description The Mixer Operator is responsible for creating batches of material according to specific customer and company specifications. This role involves weighing materials, cleaning the mixing area, and troubleshooting any issues that arise during the mixing process. Responsibilities • Review the mixing schedule and produce batches as scheduled., • Inspect reconditioned drums before use according to specified guidelines., • Dump batches from mixers and communicate with the previous mixer operator regarding any irregularities or special instructions., • Produce standard production batches by following the Mixing Procedure., • Stop immediately and notify the Group Leader and QA if any abnormalities occur, such as suspect non-conforming raw material or equipment malfunctions., • Maintain proper identification on batches and complete necessary paperwork accurately and promptly., • Inform the Manager of unidentified or mis-identified batches, safety concerns, and maintenance issues., • Keep the work area neat and clean and run processes to maximize product quality and output., • Ensure safety apparatuses are in place and follow the First-In, First-Out (FIFO) method for raw materials., • Handle hazardous waste and perform real-time reporting in SAP., • Communicate effectively with all team members and perform inspections and tests on drums and batches., • Operate a forklift safely and efficiently., • 1-3 years of experience in mixing, batching, compounding, chemical handling, machine operation, and production., • Ability to operate a forklift., • Ability to lift up to 60lbs repeatedly., • Comfortable working in a facility with strong odors., • Ability to pass skills key and audiogram tests., • High school diploma or GED required. Work Environment Work in a climate-controlled chemical plant primarily involved in automotive material production. The environment involves exposure to manufacturing operations, including moving equipment, noise, fumes, vibrations, and dust. Shifts available are 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, with potential overtime on weekends. Safety PPE, including steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, respirators, gloves, and earbuds, is provided. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Evansville, IN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.
