Position Overview The Sales Representative plays a critical role in the growth and success of Genesis Trailers by developing, maintaining, and expanding strong dealer relationships across multiple states. This individual will serve as the primary point of contact for dealers throughout Michigan, Wisconsin, Indiana, Illinois, Minnesota, and Ohio. The position requires regular travel and frequent in-person visits to dealer lots, boat shows, events, and trade functions. The ideal candidate is hard-working, self-motivated, humble, professional, and service-oriented. They should possess strong character, high integrity, and a willingness to consistently represent Genesis Trailers with respect and excellence. This role requires a blend of sales acumen, relationship management, problem-solving, and the ability to support dealers in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Dealer Relationship Management • Serve as the primary representative for Genesis Trailers within the assigned region., • Build strong, long-term relationships with existing dealers through regular visits, calls, emails, and support., • Conduct on-site dealership visits to assess inventory, product placement, brand representation, and upcoming dealer needs., • Support dealers with product knowledge, training, and promotional materials., • Respond promptly to dealer inquiries regarding pricing, lead times, service concerns, product questions, or order status., • Identify and pursue new dealership opportunities within assigned territories., • Conduct cold calls, networking activity, and scheduled travel to expand Genesis Trailers' market presence., • Present the Genesis product line and value proposition in a professional and compelling manner., • Work to increase overall unit sales within each territory in alignment with annual revenue goals., • Evaluate market conditions, competitor presence, pricing trends, and dealer feedback to recommend adjustments to sales strategy., • Provide forecasts, territory plans, and recommendations for geographic expansion or adjustments., • Serve as a resource for dealers experiencing product, freight, warranty, or production-related concerns., • Coordinate with internal departments - production, engineering, scheduling, and customer service - to resolve dealer issues., • Provide service-minded solutions while maintaining Genesis standards, policies, and expectations., • Travel frequently across multiple states to maintain strong in-person dealer connections., • Attend boat shows, dealer open houses, industry events, and promotional functions as required., • Support dealers by helping staff booths, answer questions, and assist in closing customer sales during events., • Represent Genesis Trailers professionally in all environments and interactions. Sales Reporting & Documentation • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of dealer visits, conversations, opportunities, and sales activity., • Submit weekly/monthly sales activity reports to management, including key wins, new opportunities, concerns, and territory insights., • Track dealer order patterns, stocking levels, and at-risk accounts requiring additional attention., • Work closely with the Sales Manager, customer service team, and production scheduling to plan orders and meet dealer needs., • Provide feedback on product improvements, dealer trends, and market direction., • Participate in sales meetings, training sessions, and internal strategy discussions., • Distribute bi-weekly marketing flyers and promotional materials to assigned dealers., • Help ensure consistent Genesis brand representation at all dealer locations., • Capture photos, success stories, and field insights to support marketing efforts., • Self-starter able to work independently without daily oversight., • Humble and respectful when interacting with dealers, customers, and team members., • High integrity - consistently honest, transparent, and dependable., • Strong communication skills, including written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills., • Service-oriented mindset, always seeking to help dealers succeed., • Professional appearance and demeanor while representing the Genesis brand., • Strong time management with the ability to plan weekly travel and reporting., • Willingness to travel, sometimes multiple days per week or for extended trips., • Problem-solving ability with a calm, grounded approach to challenges., • Previous sales experience required, ideally within marine, trailer, powersports, or related industries., • Experience managing a multi-state territory is an asset., • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel by car or occasional air travel., • Basic mechanical understanding of trailers and related components (preferred but not required)., • Proficiency with email, spreadsheets, CRM systems, and mobile communication tools., • This is a field-based role requiring consistent travel to dealerships., • Occasional weekend work may be required during peak boat show season., • Must be reliable, punctual, and capable of representing the company with professionalism., • Expected to uphold Genesis Trailers’ mission, brand values, and commitment to quality.
