As a Tax/Senior Manager, you will play a key leadership role in managing client relationships, overseeing complex tax engagements, and mentoring staff all while helping shape the continued growth and success of our firm. This position is a hybrid position located in Syracuse, NY. Key Responsibilities • Serve as a front-line client advisor, developing strong, lasting relationships with clients and ensuring the highest quality in service delivery and compliance., • Lead complex tax planning and strategy engagements, offering innovative and practical solutions to minimize tax liabilities and achieve client goals., • Review and evaluate tax research, methodology, and conclusions to ensure accuracy and quality., • Represent clients during IRS audits, administrative hearings, and other regulatory interactions., • Collaborate with Partners on practice development, management, and strategic initiatives to support firm growth., • Represent the firm within professional and community organizations, strengthening our presence and reputation., • Oversee Tax Department scheduling and workload management to ensure efficient operations., • Mentor and develop Tax Staff, In-Charges, and Supervisors, fostering a culture of learning, accountability, and professional advancement. Qualifications • Minimum 6 years of progressive tax experience, 7 years or more for Senior Tax Manager, preferably in a public accounting firm., • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Masters in Taxation preferred)., • Active CPA license required., • Demonstrated commitment to exceptional client service and professional integrity., • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to explain complex tax matters clearly., • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines., • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive, strategic mindset.
