Based in Grand Rapids, MI, Altus current product portfolio includes powered (i.e., with built-in battery) and non-powered mobile workstations, and AI enabled tele-sitting cart and wall-mounts launched in partnership with another company. A keycomponentof the Companys value proposition is offeringa very broadassortment of configurable customization options, aimed at improving the end-use experience. The Companys products areutilizedacross multiple departments including patient rooms, emergency departments, surgical centers, continuing care,telehealthand radiology departments. Historicallythe Company hasleveragedits strong product and industrial engineering capabilities to design and manufacture high-quality carts that are well-regarded in the market. Over the past few years, hospitals have increasingly demanded managed services capabilities that enable customers, or Altus itself, to proactively manage the fleet of carts deployed at customer sites (e.g.detect quality issues, remote troubleshooting, real time cart's location, fleet replacement management,etc). Altus has made progress in the development of this capability, with the launch of IOT enabled cartsin 2024 with multiple customers across the Midwest,as well as launchingadditionalfull solutionproductscombining hardware andsoftwareinthe Virtual Care andRTLSMessnetworkmarkets. To support our continued growth, we are looking for aJunior Software Developerto join our growing team at Altus. SUMMARY: TheJuniorSoftware Engineersupports theTechnologystrategy of the organization bydeveloping,managing,and deliveringhigh-qualitysoftware solutionsto market andperformbest practice life cycle management for the Altus product portfolio.This role contributes to the successfulsoftware development,deliveryand support of solutionsthrough concept, commercialization, and end-of-product life. This role functions as afull-stacksoftware engineer, contributing across the front-end, back-end, database, and infrastructure layers of the Altus product ecosystem. TheJuniorSoftware Engineersupportsthedevelopmentprocess from concept through commercialization,product requirements anduse case,test and quality assurance,the development ofand communication oflaunch plans includingnew and improved product design,commercialization strategy,and Managed Servicesinternalsupport. ESSENTIALDUTIES: • Developand support high-quality software and architecture to support Altus products and services., • Support the Managed Services solution by providing guidance and solutions for software related issues across all Altus products., • Identify,prioritize,and execute tasks in the software development life cycle., • Support routine tasks through the creation of automated tools and scripting., • Review, troubleshoot and debug code for Altus products and services., • Perform validation and verification testing for existing andnew solutions., • Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to fix and improve products and services., • Lead analysis andprovidereports to identify opportunities,trendsand potential threats with the purpose of maximizing value for the Altus product portfolio. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCEREQUIREMENTS: • Bachelors degree incomputer science or computer engineering,or relevant field preferred, • Medical device,equipmentand/or technology experience highly preferred SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED: • Experience working with:TypeScript, JavaScript,React, Git, • Additionaldevelopment skills:PostgreSQL, Docker,Node.js, • Experience working with RESTful API,Electron Applications,AWS,Websockets,Docker Containers,Embedded Edge Devices., • Familiarityofmedical devices, medicaltechnology, software development, and/or IoT technologies., • Abilityto analyze problems and strategize for better solutions., • Experience with development environments, testautomationand debugging tools., • Solid coding skills and awareness of industry best practices and standards for writing secure code and managing the codebase., • Readiness and excitement to learn and develop new skills., • Strong situational awareness, coupled with facilitation, team building, problem solving, and conflict resolution skills., • None TRAVEL:Thisposition may require travel up to 10% of the time.Mustmaintaina valid Drivers License.
