Job Description SUMMARY OF POSITION QA Buyoff personnel is responsible for final quality inspection and buyoff of tooling to customer specifications. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS This document in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee occupying the position. • Review/acceptance of finished products to ensure that all specifications and contractual requirements have been met and that component accountability is complete, • Review special process certifications for compliance to customer requirements, • Review final inspection reports of details, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies, • Generate Tool Inspection Records, FAI reports, CofC documents, and compile final customer inspection package, • Document and archive final inspection documentation including photos, • Support builder teams, program managers, etc. with GDT interpretation, customer ID requirements, storage configuration to ensure requirements regarding quality of product are being met, • Assist with manual inspection utilizing micrometers, calipers, etc. to ensure the integrity of the components, • Maintain knowledge of customer and industry standards and specifications, • Liaison contact and support for customer quality representatives, source inspectors, • Utilize and update information to customer QA web accounts, • Physical review of tooling, tool tag stamping, torque striping/bugging, proof load witnessing, bag testing, thickness testing etc., • Problem investigation and resolution in accordance with NCR/CAR process with QA Coordinator, QA Manager, Build Lead, PM, etc., • Any additional duties as reasonably assigned by management. REQUIRED SKILLS, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful job performance will be considered. Typical qualifications would be: • Minimum High School Diploma/GED required, • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a quality assurance buyoff/engineering position or in aerospace and/or aerospace tooling industry, • This position must meet Export Control Compliance requirements, therefore a US Person as defined by 22.C.F.R. is required, • Proficient in GD&T interpretation, • Ability to effectively handle tasks in a fast-paced environment, • Able to work varied shifts, overtime, and weekends when necessary, • Has confidence in leading processes, projects and looks for opportunities, • Ability to work with management team to help drive performance of location. TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some projects may require out-of-state or out-of-country overnight travel. WORKING CONDITIONS Working conditions described here are representative of those that may be experienced by an employee daily while performing the functions of this job. • While performing the duties of this job, employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, and airborne particles, • The employee may be exposed to vibration, • The employee is occasionally exposed to caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, • May be required to work weekends to meet department and business demands, • Work with safe manufacturing processes and understanding that eyewear is mandatory in the manufacturing area, • Knows that safety shoes are recommended in the manufacturing area PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
