Job DescriptionJob Title: Electrical and Mechanical Assembler Job Description Join our engineering team focused on assembling the Xenon International product, designed for detecting nuclear activity. This innovative project primarily serves the US Air Force and requires expertise in electrical and mechanical assembly. Responsibilities • Discuss layout and assembly procedures with engineers or management and draw sketches to clarify design details and functional criteria of electronic units., • Recommend changes in circuitry or installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance., • Work from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts, or defined plans to perform testing, checkout, and troubleshooting functions., • Set up standard test apparatus or devices to conduct functional, operational, environmental, and life tests to evaluate performance and reliability of prototype or production models., • Analyze and interpret test data., • Adjust, calibrate, align, and modify circuitry and components, recording effects on unit performance., • Write technical reports and develop charts, graphs, and schematics to describe and illustrate system's operating characteristics, malfunctions, deviations from design specifications, and functional limitations., • Check the functioning of newly installed equipment to evaluate system performance under actual operating conditions., • Read blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, or engineering instructions for assembling electronics units, applying knowledge of electronic theory and components., • Perform preventative maintenance or calibration of equipment or systems., • Adjust or replace defective or improperly functioning circuitry or electronics components, using hand tools or soldering iron., • Identify and resolve equipment malfunctions, working with external and/or internal sources as necessary to procure replacement parts., • Maintain system logs or manuals to document testing or operation of equipment., • Provide user applications or engineering support or recommendations for new or existing equipment concerning installation, upgrades, or enhancements., • Provide customer support and education, working with users to identify needs, determine sources of problems, or provide information on product use.Essential Skills, • 2+ years of experience in mechanical and/or electrical hands-on assembly, • Proficiency in soldering and using hand tools, • Experience in troubleshooting and testing, • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams, • Capability to qualify for Security ClearanceAdditional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience with wiring and electronic components, • Ability to recommend changes in circuitry or installation specifications, • Knowledge in analyzing and interpreting test dataWork Environment The work schedule consists of four 9-hour shifts with a half-day on Friday. The environment is temperature-controlled, providing a comfortable workspace not typical of fast-paced manufacturing settings. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
