Job Description The Room Attendant plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and overall appearance of guest rooms and public areas within the hotel. This position ensures that each room is thoroughly cleaned, sanitized, and prepared to meet the high standards expected by guests, contributing directly to their comfort and satisfaction. The Room Attendant is responsible for inspecting rooms for maintenance issues and reporting them promptly to ensure a seamless guest experience. This role requires attention to detail, efficiency, and a commitment to upholding the hotel's reputation for excellence. Ultimately, the Room Attendant helps create a welcoming and hygienic environment that encourages repeat visits and positive reviews. Essential Functions: • Use correct cleaning chemicals for designated surfaces, according to OSHA regulations and hotel requirements, • Clean assigned guest rooms by priority, • Transport cart with cleaning supplies, amenities, and linens to the assigned guest room and position securely, • Empty trash containers and recycling bins., • Remove all dirty terry and replace them with clean parts to the designated layout, • Remove soil, dirt, soap build-up, and hair from bathroom mirrors, vanity, sink, toilet, shower walls, bathtub, shower curtain, and floor., • Replace dirty bed linen and make up the bed with clean linen, • Replace laundry bags and slips, • Clean closets and door tracks in check-out rooms, removing dust and debris. Ensure the correct amount and placement of hangers, extra blanket/pillow, and other amenities., • Dust and polish all furniture, pictures, frames, mirrors, light bulbs and switches, TV and remote, as well as the cable box, • Realign furniture to the floor plan, • Open all drawers/doors in check-out rooms and remove items left by guests. Dust inside, • Check under bed(s), chairs, and sofa for debris and remove if present, • Inspect the condition of all furniture for tears, rips, or stains; report any damage to maintenance., • Remove dust, spots, and smears from all doors, drapes, windows, ledges, frames, baseboards, AC unit, corners, and telephones, • Inspect the condition of amenities in the desk, drawers, and guest service directory, and replace designated amounts at proper locations in the room, • Ensure the presence of fire safety, rate cards, and DND signs. Inspect condition and replace as needed, • Vacuum throughout the entire room and spray the room with deodorizer, • Update the status of rooms cleaned on the assignment sheet, • Return and restock cart at the end of shift, as well as empty vacuum bag and wipe vacuum clean., • Ensure the security of any assigned guest room keys and turn over any lost and found items from guest rooms to your supervisor, • Clean and replenish the coffee maker set, • Handle guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction, • Report any damage or maintenance problems to your supervisor, • Knowledge of hotel fire and emergency procedures, • Adhere to lost and found policy, including key control, • Successful completion of the training process, • Other essential room cleaning duties as operations change in the future., • Stock cleaning supply closets, • All other miscellaneous responsibilities as assigned and deemed appropriate by management, • Ability to satisfactorily communicate in English (speak, read, write) with guests, co-workers, and management to their understanding, • Ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow-through, courtesy, cooperativeness, and work with minimal supervision., • Punctuality and regular and reliable attendance, • Interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate well with co-workers and the public, • Ability to work independently and within a team, • Good organizational and customer service skills, • Must be able to stand for extended periods, bend, and lift 30lbs, • Maintain guest confidence, privacy, and security of guests, guest rooms, and their belongings Qualifications: • Prior guest relations training, • Knowledge of proper equipment usage, • Flexible schedule, • Effective verbal/written English communication skills Education: • High school graduate or equivalent vocational training Benefits: • 401(k), • Dental insurance, • Employee discount, • Flexible schedule, • Health insurance, • Life insurance, • Paid time off, • Vision insurance Shift: • 8-hour shift, • Day shift 8:30a-4:30p
