Children’s Support Worker – initially 1 Year Maternity Leave
Hours: 16 – 37 hours per week.
To be worked between Monday to Friday and 2 Saturdays per 4 weeks. Exact times and dates to be negotiated for the right candidate.
Salary: £25,950 FTE (Pro Rata for part time hours) 3% pay increase pending.

Nottingham Central Women’s Aid is working to put an end to violence against women and girls by providing safe accommodation, intervention programmes and support to recover following the trauma of being subjected to abuse. We specialise in working with women and families who face multiple disadvantage and complexity of needs.
Nottingham Central Women’s Aid is a registered charity and company. We are now seeking to recruit a Full or part time Children’s Support Worker for 1 year to cover maternity leave. The role may be extended subject to further funding.
Children’s Support Worker will be responsible for providing a refuge service for children and their mothers who are impacted by domestic abuse. You will provide personal welfare support to ensure that families are provided with a safe, supportive and welcoming environment along with practical, emotional and safety planning support to children and young people in refuge and during resettlement. The post holder will be flexible, adaptable and prepared to manage a wide range of duties and able to work within a confidential and safeguarding environment.
A full Enhanced Disclosing and Barring Service check will be required for this post.
The post holder will be professional and approachable building positive relationships with residents and staff and liaising with any relevant statutory and voluntary agencies including the Police and Social care. The post holder will attend case conferences, when necessary, effectively working as the lead case worker for the children in the family. Providing practical and emotional support to women and their children within the emergency accommodation settings through weekly support sessions, regular reviews of individual support plans and risk and needs assessments, ensuring women and children have essential and immediate needs met as a priority.
The post holder’s main duties will be to provide support and opportunities to children and young people who have been impacted by domestic abuse and to be the lead CYP case holder.
The post is initially funded for one year from the start date. This post will be subject to relevant Disclosure and Barring Scheme checks. It is an Occupational Requirement that applications are open to women only, as permitted under Schedule 9, Part 1, Paragraph 1, of the Equality Act 2010. No agencies please.
