THE COMPANY TALO. is working exclusively with an established consumer products business based in South Wales. They design, develop and manufacture a huge variety of consumer products from wrapping paper, gift bags and partyware to stationery, kids craft kits, art materials, Christmas decorations and more. If you're currently quite specialised, this would be a great opportunity to broaden your category experience. You'll be working with an experienced manager who'll be there when you need them but equally trust you to get on with your job. You'll have ownership of your own area, with the freedom to create technical manuals and procedures, adapt existing ways of working and suggest improvements where you think things could be done better. Located in South Wales, theyre easily commutable from Cardiff, Bristol, Swansea, with the Brecon Beacons National Park within easy reach too. They work on a hybrid basis (3 days in the office, 2 from home). There's plenty of flexibility around working hours with possible start times between 7am and 10am so whether you're an early riser, prefer a later start or have drop-offs and pick-ups to work around, you can do what works for you. THE ROLE • Working across a varied portfolio of consumer products, you'll be responsible for making sure they're safe, legal and meet the standards expected by major UK retailers., • Managing products through risk assessment, testing and technical approval ahead of launch., • Developing and maintaining technical files, product specifications, test reports and declarations of conformity., • Acting as the technical link between Buying, Design, customers and overseas manufacturing partners., • Identifying the testing and compliance requirements for different products, materials and markets., • Reviewing product artwork, packaging and labelling to ensure legal and accurate labelling., • Working with customers to meet their technical requirements and resolve product or compliance issues., • Investigating quality or technical issues and working with suppliers and internal teams to find practical solutions., • Keeping up to date with relevant product legislation and standards across areas such as toy safety EN71, REACH, GPSR, FSC/timber and chemical compliance. ABOUT YOU To be successful in this role, youll already have experience working in a quality, product technology, compliance, product development or a related role where product safety, testing and risk assessment form part of your job. The responsibilities can be adjusted depending on your level so if youre at Senior, Technologist, Junior or Assistant level wed love to hear from you. You dont need to have worked with the same products before. Theyre open to people from different product areas or industries where the underlying technical skills are transferable. Whats important is that you understand product risk assessment, testing and technical approval, and know how to make sure a product is safe, legal and ready to go to market. Due to their out-of-town location, youll need to be able to drive and have access to a car. THE REWARD This role will also help you broaden your product experience.
