Catering & Events Manager Location: City of London Salary: Competitive, depending on experience Working Pattern: Full-time, Monday to Friday (40 hours) Occasional evenings and weekends required My client is seeking an experienced Catering & Events Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of a café bar within a premium serviced office environment in the City. This is a hands-on leadership role, approximately 50% front of house, acting as the face of the venue. The space serves building tenants daily with high-quality coffee, licensed beverages and breakfast and lunch service, while also hosting private hire events throughout the year for both in-house and external clients. The role will suit a confident operator who thrives in a corporate hospitality environment, enjoys event delivery and takes pride in high standards of service and presentation. Key Responsibilities Oversee the daily operation of the café bar, ensuring smooth opening and closing procedures Lead front of house service across daytime and evening shifts Manage and coordinate private hire events from enquiry through to execution Prepare clear and accurate quotes for event clients Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation and compliance Manage stock control, ordering and supplier relationships Monitor budgets, control costs and protect gross profit margins Prepare accurate month-end reporting Build strong relationships with corporate tenants and event clients Drive footfall and generate new private hire opportunities Upsell food and beverage services where appropriate Lead and motivate the team, maintaining a positive and professional workplace culture About You Previous management experience within a café, bar, food service or hospitality venue Strong event coordination and delivery experience Commercially aware with experience managing budgets and suppliers Confident leading teams in a high-pressure environment Excellent customer service skills with a polished, professional approach Strong barista knowledge and bartending experience advantageous Flexible to work early mornings or late evenings where required This is a fantastic opportunity to join a stable corporate hospitality environment with a loyal client base, offering autonomy, variety and the chance to lead from the front.
