How you'll make a difference As a Casual EDT Admin Assistant, you will be working with the out of hours Emergency Duty team (EDT), providing administrative support to a small team of social care practitioners who cover South Gloucestershire, Bath, Northeast Somerset, Bristol and North Somerset. What you will be doing • It will be your responsibility to maintain clients’ records, complete statistical records and data returns on spreadsheets and maintain the EDT staff rota and records for the EDT pool cars., • You will accurately record and assist in the monitoring and maintaining of budgets and financial information., • When required, you will be asked to act as a call handler. This will mean taking calls from members of the public, the police and other agencies, collating information to pass on to an EDT Officer., • We require you to either hold an NVQ 2, 3 GCSE’s (grades C/4 or above) or an equivalent qualification or have relevant experience in office administration., • It is essential that you can communicate effectively with customers, professionals and partnership agencies using a variety of media such as email, phone and face to face etc., • Given the elements of the role, you will have great IT skills and know its practical application, including experience of using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and maintaining computerised record systems., • According to the needs of the business, this role is being offered on a casual basis on Fridays and Saturdays., • Friday shift: 16:45 - 00:15, • Saturday shift: 08:45 - 17:15 How a career at South Gloucestershire Council is different • As part of our benefits package, you will receive generous annual leave (pro rata), employee wellbeing support and you will have access to a range of staff discounts , including eye tests, travel, shopping and leisure activities., • We know our team work best when they have balance in their lives and we offer genuine flexibility to help them achieve that work/life balance ., • We recognise that our diverse team of skilled and dedicated people make us a great place to work.
