The OpportunityAs an AV Installation Engineer, you will be responsible for the hands-on installation, termination, testing of commercial AV and videoconferencing systems. You will work predominantly on client sites across Europe, often for extended periods, and will be expected to deliver installations to a consistently high standard with minimal supervision. [Purpose of the Role] To act as the company’s on-site technical representative, carrying out direct hands-on installation, electrical testing and quality assurance for high-voltage power transformers (33/11kV up to 400kV Super Grid class) across major energy & electricity companies and private substation projects throughout the UK. The role is fully field-based, involving regular outdoor work, manual handling of heavy components and direct physical engagement with transformer systems. [Key Responsibilities] (1) Transformer Installation and Assembly • Carry out arrival inspection upon delivery: check for transport damage, verify dry air pressure, cross-check packing list, and record and photograph any non-conformances., • Assemble and mount radiators, conservator tanks, cooling fans and associated pipework, verifying flange connections and valve alignments prior to oil filling., • Install HV, LV and neutral bushings; make and verify internal HV and LV winding connections and tap changer connections; torque all bolts and fasteners to manufacturer-specified values using hand and hydraulic torque tools and record results., • Install and connect protection and auxiliary fittings (Buchholz relay, PRD, WTI, OTI, oil level gauges, marshalling kiosk); connect earthing straps and earth busbars; verify oil containment bunding and sump conditions before oil filling., • Carry out oil processing (hose connection, filtration, degassing, vacuum monitoring, oil sampling); rectify all snagging items; carry out touch-up painting; manage procurement of missing or defective materials throughout the installation. (2) Electrical Testing and Commissioning Support • Set up and operate test equipment (IR, TTR, winding resistance, CT/VT polarity); physically connect test leads to transformer terminals and marshalling kiosks, operating a MEWP where working at height is required., • Record, interpret and report test results against FAT reports; witness energisation and post-energisation checks alongside the client’s Commissioning Engineer. (3) Technical Troubleshooting and Engineering Liaison • Identify and diagnose technical deviations on site; implement corrective procedures including physical rework or re-testing in accordance with the company guidelines., • Prepare technical queries (TQs) and liaise with the company Site Supervisor, E&S Line Manager or factory engineering team to resolve issues and implement corrective actions. (4) Quality Documentation and Site Records • Complete installation and test check sheets, ITPs, NCR registers, snag lists and a daily site diary; submit to the company Site Supervisor and Project Manager as required., • Support compilation of commissioning dossiers with as-built test records, photographs and marked-up drawings; record quality observations through Site Observation Notes. (5) HSE Compliance and Work Safety • Follow all company and client HSE procedures including PPE, permit-to-work and safe systems of work; contribute to POWRAs and toolbox talks under the direction of the company Site Supervisor and HSE Manager; act as Plant Vehicle Marshal (PVM) around MEWPs and telehandlers as required., • Provide transformer installation-specific technical input to RAMS; report all incidents, near misses and hazards promptly. (6) Programme and Coordination Support • Work under the day-to-day direction of the company Site Supervisor, following the agreed installation programme; report work completed, outstanding tasks and issues affecting progress promptly., • Liaise with installation subcontractors and equipment suppliers’ representatives as directed, ensuring correct sequencing of activities across multiple UK substation projects. [Requirements] (1) Some formal electrical or mechanical training (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent), or substantial hands-on experience in power transformer or heavy electrical equipment installation in lieu of formal qualification. (2) Practical experience in hands-on assembly, oil processing, testing or commissioning of power transformers or heavy electrical equipment. (3) Ability to read electrical drawings, wiring diagrams and test specifications; competent in the use of electrical test equipment. About you From a retail design, production agency or fabrication /scenic construction house you will have a solid understanding of retail design/installation; experiential fit outs and live events/brand activations. This position sits within a specialist team responsible for managing the post-sale lifecycle of artworks for a global client base. The successful individual will take ownership of client projects following a sale, ensuring that all aspects of delivery, presentation, and installation are handled seamlessly. Working closely with internal stakeholders and external partners, you will act as the central point of coordination, ensuring a high standard of service is maintained throughout. Key Responsibilities • Oversee the full post-sale process for artworks, from confirmation through to final delivery and installation, • Coordinate international and domestic logistics, identifying the most effective transport and installation solutions, • Ensure all artworks meet required quality standards prior to dispatch, • Liaise with approved suppliers to coordinate any restoration, finishing, or presentation requirements, • Manage additional project elements such as framing, display requirements, and installation specifications, • Plan and coordinate site visits and pre-installation requirements where necessary, • Work closely with internal logistics and shipping teams to ensure smooth execution across all stages, • Monitor project timelines, proactively addressing any challenges or delays, • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure all shipping and compliance paperwork is completed correctly, • Provide regular updates to internal stakeholders on project status and progress Key Requirements • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, • High attention to detail and accuracy, particularly when handling high-value items, • Confident communicator, comfortable liaising with clients, suppliers, and internal teams, • Proactive and solutions-focused approach to problem solving, • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team, • Commercial awareness with an understanding of logistics and supply chain processes, • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general systems, • Previous experience within fine art, auction houses, galleries, or luxury goods environments preferred
