    darts is looking for a Duty Manager to join our team at The Point, Doncaster’s Centre for Creative Health & Learning. The post is 20hrs a week with opportunities for overtime. The rate of pay is £14.94 an hour, £15,580 pa (based on 20hrs pro rata). Join our Team We are looking for someone who is experienced, motivated, and proactive to join us at The Point as a Duty Manager. You will be responsible for smooth operations during your shift, giving a positive experience for users, and ensuring the building is safe and well presented. You will be part of a small, knowledgeable, and energetic team who share a passion for darts’ charitable aims and believe in our core values. We want to work with someone who is friendly and approachable with an ability to communicate clearly, effectively, and empathetically. You will be able to collaborate and will enjoy supporting others. We need someone who is eager to learn and develop their skills, to use their initiative, and to demonstrate honesty and integrity. The job is permanent for 20 hours a week with opportunity for overtime, flexibility in working patterns and some evening and Saturday shifts required. It is a centre for creative health and learning in Doncaster’s city centre where people come to make and share art. We have a lovely light-filled event space, creative workshop spaces, a cafe and garden. Throughout the year the building offers the chance for people of all ages to take part in music, dance, drama and art, to improve life, learning and health. Job Description The Point Duty Manager Responsible to the Chief Executive Objectives • To ensure the smooth and safe operation of The Point and a positive experience for participants, tenants, staff and other visitors. Responsibilities Ensure the building operates smoothly and safely, with a warm welcome for all • Co-ordinate the operation of The Point during the shift including:, • arrival and departure of groups and hires, • cleaning and presentation, • planned maintenance visits and urgent repairs, • safety and security of all users., • Ensure smooth front of house operation, ensuring a warm welcome for visitors to the building, answering calls, • Open the building:, • ensure rooms are set up as required and equipment is in place and functional, • maintain good presentation of the building throughout the day, • Maintain an overview of activity in the building and act as first point of contact and resolution for enquiries and incidents (first aid, fire, health & safety, security, technical), • Co-ordinate internal and external room use throughout the day including: taking bookings; negotiations with hirers; set up of furniture, materials and equipment (including lighting, sound and technical equipment) for workshops, performances and external hires; negotiation with in-house cafe, • Support the catering team during busy periods, • Act as the designated first aider Company Responsibilities • Support the wider team with administrative and marketing tasks., • Take shared responsibility for advocacy, promotion and customer care, • Advise other members of the darts team when required and support them and their work when appropriate Person Specification Essential Excellent communication skills Demonstrable understanding of the principles of excellent customer care and visitor service Ability to self-motivate & work independently Effective time and workload management skills to prioritise and meet deadlines Ability to work under pressure, remain calm and manage multiple tasks Confident ICT skills using a range of work related applications – e.g. Microsoft 365 Desirable Facilities Management experience Experience/qualifications managing Health & Safety in a public space Experience of working within catering / hospitality Experience of food preparation & service Team working experience Understanding of inclusion and diversity issues that may impact on promotion and delivery of visitor services. The role also involves assisting with the erection, modification, and dismantling of scaffolding structures while maintaining strict safety standards. Key Responsibilities • Safely operate an HGV Class 2 vehicle to transport scaffolding equipment to various sites., • Load, unload, and secure scaffolding materials in compliance with transport regulations., • Assist the scaffolding team with the erection, alteration, and dismantling of scaffolding structures., • Conduct daily vehicle safety checks and report any defects., • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and site procedures., • Maintain accurate delivery paperwork and site documentation., • Work closely with site supervisors and team members to ensure efficient project completion., • Follow all road transport laws and company policies while driving. Skills & Experience • Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) driving licence., • Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph Card., • Previous experience working in scaffolding or construction environments., • Knowledge of scaffolding components and safe handling procedures., • Strong understanding of health and safety regulations on construction sites., • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team., • Good time management and reliability. Desirable Qualifications • CISRS Scaffolding Card or relevant scaffolding qualification., • Experience driving vehicles carrying heavy construction materials., • Site safety certifications (e.g., CSCS card).
