DT Technician - Secondary School - Brent - April 2026 Start - Full-Time Are you an experienced DT Technician or someone with a strong practical background looking to support a dynamic secondary school environment? Are you organised, hands-on, and passionate about supporting creative and technical learning? Tradewind Recruitment is working with a welcoming and well-regarded secondary school in Brent seeking a DT Technician to join their Design & Technology department on a full-time, long-term basis, starting ASAP. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in supporting practical lessons and ensuring a safe, engaging learning environment for students. DT Technician - Role Overview As a DT Technician, you will support the smooth running of the Design & Technology department across KS3 and KS4. Your responsibilities will include: • Preparing materials, tools, and equipment for practical lessons, • Supporting teachers and students during workshop-based activities, • Maintaining and organising machinery, tools, and stock, • Ensuring all equipment is safe, clean, and in good working order, • Assisting with demonstrations and practical tasks where required, • Monitoring and managing stock levels, placing orders where necessary, • Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations at all times, • Supporting with risk assessments and safe working practices, • Maintaining a tidy, safe, and efficient workshop environmentRequirements, • Previous experience working in a school or workshop environment (desirable), • Strong practical skills (woodwork, metalwork, or resistant materials preferred), • Good understanding of health and safety procedures within a workshop setting, • Organised, proactive, and able to manage workload effectively, • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, • Strong communication skills and a willingness to support students, • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)What's on Offer, • A supportive and well-resourced secondary school in Brent, • Full-time role: Monday to Friday, term-time only, • Opportunity to work within a creative and hands-on department, • A key support role contributing to engaging and practical learning, • Ongoing training and professional development For more information, please contact Elizabeth Topley by emailing or calling (option 3).
