About the role: In the role of Head of Planning you will be accountable for ensuring product availability, effective capacity management, and maintaining the right range in the right depot at the right time, while minimizing costs. Additionally, you will oversee communication cascades, continuous improvement projects, and work closely with operations to maximize availability and reduce costs. Finally, you will manage, develop, and plan succession for the planning team. Responsibilities: • Lead the planning department in a positive, customer-focused, and professional manner., • Recruit, train and develop the team both for new positions and succession planning., • Develop a diverse, inclusive, solutions-oriented, and customer service focussed culture through coaching and mentoring the team and encouraging two-way communication., • Listen to employee, customer, and stakeholder feedback and take action to improve employee engagement and improve and develop Best Companies employee engagement action plans and results., • Share ideas and develop innovative ways of working to improve company performance and employee engagement in line with the business strategy within the departmental budget., • Ensure that the department demonstrates professionalism and delivers an awesome customer experience to both internal and external customers., • To ensure that the planning strategy delivers Kitwave Foodservice Divisions goal delight our customers and drive business profitability. Including collaboration with the operational teams to drive efficiency, achieve excellent service levels and reduce cost and complexity., • Design, implement and develop a planning strategy which supports operational and commercial objectives., • Introduce, own, lead and develop a sales and operational planning process., • Collaborate with senior leadership to shape, deliver and develop the planning strategy., • Lead continuous improvement projects within the planning function, in collaboration with operations team which minimise costs and maximise availability., • Implement and develop systems and processes to monitor performance, assess risks, and respond to market changes., • Lead, Develop and Mentor the planning team and foster a culture of positive challenge, excellence, innovation, and collaboration., • Implementation, management and development of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems to efficiently purchase goods from suppliers.
