Key Responsibilities as a Site Supervisor: Premises Management: Ensure the school buildings, grounds, and facilities are maintained to an exceptionally high, safe standard. Security: Act as the primary keyholder, managing the opening and closing of the school site, and ensuring robust security measures are in place. Health & Safety: Conduct regular safety checks, risk assessments, and compliance logging (including fire alarms, water testing, and emergency lighting). Maintenance & Repairs: Carry out day-to-day DIY, minor repairs, painting, and planned maintenance work across the campus. Contractor Management: Oversee external contractors on-site, ensuring all health and safety regulations are strictly adhered to. Team Collaboration: Work closely with the school leadership team to support the unique requirements of an alternative educational setting. What We Are Looking For: Experience: Proven experience in facilities management, caretaking, or property maintenance (ideally within an educational, commercial, or public sector setting). Skills: Strong practical DIY skills (plumbing, carpentry, painting) alongside a good understanding of health and safety legislation (COSHH, Legionella, Fire Safety). Attributes: A positive, solution-focused attitude. Working within an alternative school requires an individual who is approachable, calm under pressure, and adaptable.
