Scenic Project Manager Location: Battersea, Central London Salary: £40,000 - £55,000 (DOE) Job Type: Permanent, Full Time A leading creative production and fabrication company within the live events, theatre, and experiential marketing industry is looking to appoint an experienced Scenic Project Manager to join their growing scenic and fabrication team in London. This is an exciting opportunity for a technically strong, detail-driven project manager with a background in scenic build, exhibition fabrication, or theatrical production, who thrives in fast-paced, creative environments. The Role As Scenic Project Manager, you will take full ownership of scenic projects from initial concept and costing through build, installation, and strike. Acting as the central point of contact between creative teams, clients, production managers, and an in-house scenic workshop, you will ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards. A key element of the role is working in close partnership with the Workshop Manager, ensuring designs are buildable, efficient, commercially viable, and safely executed while maintaining exceptional creative output. Key Responsibilities Project Management & Delivery • Manage scenic projects across all phases: concept development, costing, scheduling, fabrication, installation, and de-rig, • Own project scope, budgets, timelines, and client expectations, • Ensure clear communication between creative, production, workshop, and external stakeholders Technical & Scenic Expertise • Interpret and work from technical drawings, CAD files (AutoCAD, Vectorworks) and 3D models (SketchUp), • Apply strong technical knowledge of scenic materials, construction methods, and fabrication techniques, • Oversee carpentry, metalwork (welding, cutting, grinding), rigging principles, scenic painting, prop making, and finishing, • Ensure all scenic elements meet quality, safety, and design standards Leadership & Collaboration • Lead, develop, and motivate scenic and fabrication teams, • Support efficient workshop workflows in collaboration with the Workshop Manager, • Maintain a calm, methodical approach under tight deadlines and changing priorities Budget, Safety & Quality Control • Track and control project costs to ensure commercial viability, • Maintain a strong focus on health & safety and safe workshop practices, • Deliver consistently high-quality scenic output with excellent attention to detail Skills & Experience Required • Proven experience as a Scenic Project Manager, Scenic Supervisor, or Technical Project Manager within events, theatre, exhibitions, or live production, • Strong hands-on knowledge of scenic fabrication, materials, and workshop processes, • Confident using power tools, hand tools, and workshop machinery (table saws, routers, panel saws, etc.), • Excellent organisational, time management, and stakeholder management skills, • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced production environment, • Passion for creative problem-solving, innovation, and sustainable build practices Desirable: • Experience with CNC workflows, operation, or programming What’s On Offer • Competitive salary, • 28 days annual leave (including Bank Holidays), increases each year, • Plus an additional volunteer day, • 6 months full paid Maternity/Paternity/Adoption leave, • Quarterly employee bonus scheme, • enhanced pension scheme, • Wellbeing and benefits platform, • Ongoing training, tailored development programmes, and dedicated learning budgets, • Early finish during Summer months, • A collaborative, people-focused culture with a strong commitment to wellbeing
