Role Summary: The HSE Lead (projects) is required to develop contract wide culture whereby contributors will execute the project with no harm to people or the environment. To ensure that all contract uncertainties are systematically identified, assessed, and proactively managed in order to maximise opportunities whilst managing possible threats. We are seeking an experienced HSE Advisor (projects) to join our QHSE team in Aberdeen on a full-time, long-term contractor basis to oversee 2 key client contracts. This role is based in our office in Aberdeen on a flexible hybrid working model where 2 days per week can be worked remotely. Routine offshore visits will be required so candidates must have valid offshore certification. Previous experience in CDM would be advantageous but not mandatory. Suitable candidates must have demonstrable experience in a similar role within the Oil and Gas/Energy Sector and hold an investigation qualification along with ISO Lead Auditor to 45001,9001 or 14001 certification. As Group Financial Controller, you’ll be at the heart of the SSE Finance function, ensuring the accuracy, integrity and timeliness of all external financial reporting. You’ll lead on Group consolidation, statutory reporting and accounting policies, ensuring full compliance with IFRS, UK Listing Rules and Corporate Governance requirements. Your expertise will support the CFO and Finance Directors on complex transactions and emerging financial issues, while you manage relationships with external auditors and champion continuous improvement across the finance function. You will • Lead the preparation and delivery of accurate, compliant Group consolidated financial statements under IFRS and UK listing rules., • Take end-to-end responsibility for transforming our newly centralised Record-to-Report (R2R) function — shaping the operating model, driving standardisation, improving controls and embedding a high-performing, efficient, technology-enabled R2R service., • Provide expert technical accounting guidance on complex transactions and emerging issues., • Maintain Group accounting policies, and ensuring consistent application across all business units., • Act as a trusted adviser to the CFO and Audit Committee, managing key external auditor relationships., • Provide effective leadership; setting clear standards, developing capability and driving a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. You have • Previous experience in a similar role where you were responsible for technical expertise in IFRS, consolidation, statutory reporting and complex accounting judgements., • Proven leadership experience, with the ability to inspire, develop and direct high-performing teams., • Strong communication and influencing skills, with credibility at senior executive and Board level., • A strong track record in finance transformation — ideally including centralisation, operating model change, process optimisation, standardisation and/or implementing modern reporting and control tooling, • A recognised accounting qualification (ICAS, ICAEW or equivalent) with significant experience in similar large, complex or listed organisations. Procurement Process • Sources and supply goods / services in line with client KPI’s., • Achieve targets utilizing gainshare/baseline models and negotiating discounts to achieve additional profit., • Seeks new suppliers to enhance supply chain and ensure pre-qualification questionnaires are completed accordingly., • Negotiates costs and payment terms with suppliers to ensure quality, delivery and technical standards are met., • Ensures the procurement process operate in line with company QHSE standards, policies and procedures., • Ensures queries are resolved promptly whether internal or external., • Ensures customs paperwork is provided in a timely manner., • Ensures search and utilize client surplus stock for all RFQ’s received., • Ensures source eco-friendly alternative products and offer to customers., • Ensures customer feedback is received on a monthly basis to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction., • Proactively contributes to creating a good team atmosphere., • Assist with tender pricing as and when required ensuring market competitiveness., • Ensure systems are up to date at all times (ebuy expediting) Financial Control • Assist credit controller resolve client and supplier invoice queries in a timely manner. Customer Focus • Holds full knowledge of clients’ business and objectives of the contract., • Develop customer relations with new and existing clients and attending internal marketing meetings., • Regularly attend and participates in a positive and constructive way in client meetings., • Manages client complaints and looks to problem solve where needed prior to be escalated., • Use of Computer based systems, • Holds and promotes competent knowledge of the distribution and reporting systems., • Participates in the continuous improvement of Company’s e-commerce sites and holds the ability to demonstrate its full capacity to clients (Energy Surplus, Expedite Function, Smartbuyer). QHSE • Familiar with all Company Policies and Procedures relating to Quality, Safety & Environmental standards., • Works with Company suppliers to promote Environmentally Friendly alternatives where possible promoting our sustainable procurement initiative on reducing, reusing and recycling. Contributes towards Company's targets on Recycling and energy saving initiatives. Environmental • Awareness and understanding of the company's environmental management system; including environmental policies and operational controls., • Assistance with progress towards achievement of the company's environmental objectives and targets., • Full awareness of environmental emergency procedures and responsibilities for reporting of any environmental incidents., • Awareness of environmental legislation as it relates to current duties., • Awareness and implementation of environmental procurement policy, • Adoption of recycling and energy saving initiatives within the office environment., • Adopting an environmentally responsible attitude to company business and reporting any environmental incidents or potential incidents to Supervision.
