The Volleyball Coach will be responsible for coaching in the charter school athletic association games, leading practices 1x per week, and guiding athletes during competitions. Practice must be scheduled at least once a week and games will be scheduled once to twice a week. Duties Develop and implement effective training programs tailored to the skill levels of athletes. Conduct regular practices focusing on skill development, teamwork, and game strategies. Provide constructive feedback to athletes to help them improve their performance. Organize and supervise competitive events and tournaments. Foster a positive team culture that encourages sportsmanship and respect among players. Collaborate with other coaches and staff to ensure a cohesive athletic program. Monitor athletes' progress and maintain records of their development. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school administration regarding team activities. Report to the Athletic Director and El Camino Program Leader. Maintain clear and consistent communication with players, parents, and school administration. Ensure adherence to all school policies, athletic department guidelines, league rules, and state athletic association regulations. Open to working late and weekend hours Prioritize the academic progress, physical health, and emotional well-being of all student-athletes. Serve as a positive role model and mentor. Qualifications The ideal candidate should possess the following skills and experience: Previous experience in sports coaching, strong knowledge of the game of volleyball Teaching experience or background in physical education is highly desirable. Familiarity with behavior management techniques to effectively guide student-athletes. Experience working with students in a character development setting Ability to motivated middle school students to compete A strong desire to grow in character and virtue Skills Experience using Google Drive Excellent communication verbal and written Open to feedback Ability to stand for extended periods of time CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain). POSITION OVERVIEW Under supervision of the Program Director, the Resident Monitor is responsible for providing after hours coverage, support, and crisis intervention to tenants/guests/staff at Mosholu Gardens. The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities as defined by the ADA to perform the essential functions of the job. KEY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS • Ensure the safety of the facility and the tenants., • ensure tenants are in basic adherence with Rules and Regulations, provide mild interventions, keep staff up to date to provide higher level interventions., • Provide all tenant information and daily report logs requested in a timely and accurate manner., • Ensure facilities are maintained and repairs are followed up with to create a positive environment of care. This includes ensuring the staff areas and common areas are cleaned and organized and trash is emptied. Work orders to be forwarded to appropriate persons., • Monitor the facilities, staff, and tenants to ensure that all after hours operations are within the Acacia expectations, regulations, and contractual obligations., • Provide on-site crisis intervention., • Maintains appropriate documentation of all tenant’s contacts in log., • Handle special assignments, duties and functions as assigned., • House Runs - regular presence in the lobby and on the residential floors., • Maintains notes on approved tenant meetings held in conference room after hours., • Assist tenants with laundry, shopping, appointments, if needed and directed by supervisor, • Ensure laundry room is closed/opened at appropriate hours., • Acts as liaison between participants, superintendents and building managers to ensure all emergency repairs are reported., • Maintains a Resident Monitor Log, which includes tenant/guest activity and facility observations., • High School Diploma/GED required; associate degree preferred., • Bi-lingual (English/Spanish), preferred., • Two (2+) years previous relevant experience in a Mental or Behavioral Health environment Preferred., • Ability to use business acumen to exercise good judgment and decision-making., • Ability to deal with sensitive issues with diplomacy and discretion., • Must be able to multitask with strong organizational skills., • Excellent interpersonal skills and able to communicate both verbally and in written form., • Commitment to cultural diversity and sensitivity Acacia Network provides a comprehensive and competitive benefits package to our employees.
