Role Description: Assist the United Electric Safety Department in the implementation of safety process and procedures for all United Electric staff to ensure that all safety, health and other risks are appropriately identified, assessed and managed. Region: Primarily United Electric employees located in Louisville, KY. Occasionally the position will support remote sites outside of this area for vacations, set ups, and additional focused support as needed. Primary Objectives: • Perform site audits to evaluate site safety performance. Audits will be documented electronically in United Electric’s safety application system., • Help the Safety Director in developing and implementing safety policies, procedures and documents., • Assist with injury incident response including: onsite injury support, incident investigation, assisting injured employee, developing/implementing corrective actions, following up on corrective action, and incident review discussions., • Assist safety admin with new employee orientation when necessary., • Assist with vetting services such as ISNet world, Avetta and others when necessary., • Interface with customers on safety issues/concerns and work with Safety Director on necessary responses or improvements., • Assure all employees are properly trained. This will include delivering safety training presentations in person, developing training programs/presentations as well as assuring that employees have completed the requisite online training modules., • Assist Safety Administrator and Safety Director in planning and development of new initiatives to improve safety at United Electric (including but not limited to safety software, training, policies, procedures, etc.)., • Assist with large scale onboarding of new employees for shutdowns or special projects., • Assist responsible staff and sites to comply with the United Electric Policies, Standards and Procedures., • Assist foreman, superintends, project managers, other site safety personnel, and other site leadership in complying with safety standards and performing work in as safe a manner as possible., • Inspect field equipment (harness, lanyards, etc.) as part of site audits., • Observe special hazard tasks being performed in the field (i.e. complex shut downs/LOTO, working from heights, confined Space, energized work, etc.), • Have a demonstrated understanding of safety management, including how to implement procedures related to OSHA, NFPA, ANSI, ASTM, DOT, and other regulatory standards. Preferably have 10+ years in safety and/or degree in a related field)., • Experience with PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and other computer software., • Minimum five years experience working with a major corporation or similar sized organization and within the electrical trade., • Excellent organizational skills with a proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously., • Ability to work with all levels of personnel from trade employees to senior leadership., • A self-starter, able to identify, prioritize and commence work without direct supervision., • Good communication and presentation skills (verbal and written).
