Tree Trust's Summer Youth Employment Program(SYEP)isa great experienceto build your resume in leadership, youth work, and the green industry as you make a difference in the lives of young people and improve your community! The Employment Coach acts as the liaison between parents, crew leaders, crew members, and the Tree Trust administrative team. This position will work with crew leaders and crew members to identify and provide behavioral intervention to support the crew members success in the program. The Employment Coach serves as the on-site subject matter expert and support system focused on the overall growth and development of the participants. You will help your crew members learn employment skills, develop resilience, work as a team, enjoy the summer sun, make new friends, and build lasting memories. To qualify, you will: • Be able to motivate and aid in the professional development of youth and young adults., • Be able to diffuse conflict situations effectively and diplomatically., • Be able to effectively communicate with youth, parents, and community members., • Be able to comfortably work with diverse populations., • Have proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and web-based applications., • Be at least 19, have a valid drivers license, have three years driving experience after getting your license, and have a clear driving record in order to meet the insurance requirements for driving a Tree Trust vehicle., • Be able and willing to travel daily within the metro area in a Tree Trust vehicle provided. Your assigned worksite will be within Dakota, Hennepin, or Ramsey County., • Be able and willing to transport up to 8 participants between pickup locations in a company vehicle., • Be ableto pass a criminal and motor vehicle background check., • Be available June 1st - August 14, 2026., • Be able and willing to work Monday Friday, 8 hours per day. There are multiple openings for this role that pay $21.00 per hour. We are proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer Essential Functions: • Teach employment readiness curriculum., • Be the liaison between crew leaders, crew members, and parents, investigating and addressing concerns of both., • Respond to crisis/behavioral situations through phone or face to face intervention for assigned crews., • Identify/assess behavior(s) and assist crew leaders in appropriate resolution including proper disciplinary actions if warranted., • With the assistance of the Program Manager, investigate any concerns by parents/legal guardians, crew members, crew leaders, or Tree Trusts administrative team., • Advise and support crew leaders in interpretation and enforcement of Tree Trust policies, documentation requirements, supervisory, or disciplinary concerns., • Contact Program Manager and crew members parent/legal guardian to report any disciplinary action taken., • Support and assist crew leaders in motivating youth and educating crew members on appropriate workplace communication, problem solving techniques, self-care, and teamwork development., • Actively support and assist crew members in the construction and completion of their assigned projects., • Collect paperwork from assigned crews and turn into appropriate Tree Trust administrative office., • Collect disciplinary notice(s), review and advise of proper documentation, if necessary, and turn them into to Program Manager for mailing and filing., • Collect Reward Notices/awards and turn in to Program Manager., • Complete new hire orientation and new hire paperwork with new crew members on site, as needed., • Communicate with crew leaders, crew members, parents, and Tree Trust administrative staff regarding changes and needs of assigned crews, as appropriate., • Attend regular staff meetings and trainings. Qualifications/Skills Preferred: • Pursuing or graduated with a degree in social work, human resources, counseling, education, or a related field., • One year of previous leadership experience., • Demonstrated skills or training in working with youth or young adults with barriers to employment. Work Environment: Occasional office environment but regularly works outside in conditions that include bad weather, heat up to 100 degrees, rain, and humidity. The noise level may be loud at times. Sturdy/closed toe footwear required. All tools will be provided by Tree Trust. Physical demands: The ability to stand for long periods, sit, twist, bend, grip, and lift and carry heavy objects up to 25 lbs. Screen viewing and keyboarding/typing time.
