Currently we manage multiple communities and are building the foundation to further scale. We are investing in systems, leadership, and a high-performing culture to grow into the Midwest’s premier property management company for affordable and workforce housing. Our Values: ● Excellence in what we do ● Superior resident-centric experience ● Teamwork and collaboration to meet goals ● Discipline in execution ️ The Role: Property Maintenance Lead As our Property Maintenance Lead, you will serve as a player-coach: responsible for overseeing a portfolio of residential properties and leading, mentoring, and scaling a team of maintenance techs and sub contractors. You’ll be the maintenance operational backbone and cultural ambassador of MPM across all properties—ensuring every team is aligned, every resident is respected, and every property performs. This role blends oversight with hands-on involvement in high-priority or more involved projects. You may step in temporarily to directly manage a project, while also building the systems and teams that will sustain long-term excellence. We are seeking a skilled and adaptable Maintenance Lead who is one part Technician and one part Supervisor that can take ownership of day-to-day operations, coordinate with vendors and team members, and step in to perform work when needed. This is not a sit-behind-the-desk position. You’ll be at the heart of our maintenance operations—repairing, leading, troubleshooting, and scaling with us. As MPM continues to grow, so does the opportunity for increased responsibility, expanded roles, and leadership within the company. Key Responsibilities Supervision ● Provide oversight, training, and mentorship to junior technicians and vendors. ● Ensure compliance with safety standards and building codes. ● Identify and recommend improvements to maintenance systems and vendor partnerships. What We’re Looking For Skills & Experience ● Minimum 5 years of hands-on maintenance/construction experience. ● Minimum 3 years of experience managing teams. ● Well-rounded skill set across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and appliances. ● Ability to handle scheduling, budgeting, and communication with multiple stakeholders. ● Familiarity with mobile work order systems or maintenance tracking software (Appfolio preferred but not required). ● Proficient at solving problems and delegating tasks. ● Excellent communication skills. Ideal Candidate Traits: ️️ Leadership & Culture Requirements ● Observant and self-driven, with the ability to spot issues before being told by upper management. ● Humility to ask questions when answers are unclear or unknown. ● Organized with work, tools, and other responsibilities. ● Champion MPM’s mission, values, and long-term vision across your teams. ● Develop talent from within through structured feedback, coaching, and growth plans. ● Model accountability, integrity, and operational discipline in every interaction. ● Results-driven with the rigor to manage systems, people, and performance. ● Passionate about community transformation and resident well-being. ● Calm under pressure and proactive in solving complex challenges. ● A builder at heart—ready to help scale a mission-driven company. Licensing/Certifications ● EPA Universal Certification (HVAC) (preferred) ● OSHA 10 or 30 Certification (preferred) ● Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation (Required) Why Join MPM? ● Growth Potential: As MPM expands its portfolio, we actively promote from within. This role is designed for someone who wants to grow into a regional leadership or facilities management role. ● Dynamic Environment: No two days are the same. Your contributions will be recognized and rewarded. What We Offer ● Competitive base salary $60,000+ plus performance bonuses ● Negotiable Health, dental, vision, and PTO package ● Company-sponsored leadership development opportunities ● Direct impact on company growth and community revitalization ● A tight-knit, mission-aligned team working toward a 50-year vision Ready to Lead at the Next Level?
