Description: The Camp Counselor leads and acts as a model to a group of campers in a variety of activities, including sports, competitive and non-competitive games, crafts, and swimming. Job Description SUMMARY: Participates in an on-call schedule to provide crisis intervention to clients, assessing for inpatient mental health hospitalization. Crisis services are provided within the community, on-site of the crisis. For on-call shifts, the After-Hours Counselor must provide on-site assessment within 60 minutes. PCH is centralized in Berwyn, but staff travel north up to Oak Park, East to Cicero, South to Justice and West to La Grange. Most assessments on the weekend are at one of our 4 Emergency Rooms: West Suburban, Rush Oak Park, LaGrange Memorial and MacNeal. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Provide crisis intervention services in person or by telephone to police, school and hospital personnel, and community residents dealing with crisis situations. This includes referrals as well as diagnostic assessment and crisis intervention services., • Provide on-site assessment within 60 minutes., • Conduct emergency on-site assessments of clients to determine the need for inpatient psychiatric hospitalization., • Assess and stabilize high risk individuals and/or families., • Completes required documentation and maintains records in accordance with PCH policies and procedures., • Participate in departmental meetings and completes all required training requirements., • Meets with supervisor at least once per month to discuss crisis situations.
