Job DescriptionJob Title: Crating Lead - 2nd Shift Job Description The Crating Lead oversees a team on the 2nd shift, focusing on crate assembly to support industrial projects. The role involves using hand tools, power tools, and measuring tools to assemble crates and pallets according to specific requirements. The Crating Lead is responsible for ensuring the team's safety, training, and compliance with established procedures, while maintaining accurate documentation and supporting logistics management. Responsibilities • Oversee crate assembly to hold tools and devices for supported companies., • Utilize hand tools, power tools, and measuring tools for assembling crates and pallets., • Complete required paperwork and perform routine maintenance on equipment., • Maintain a clean and orderly work environment., • Assist with crate building and material packaging as required., • Ensure compliance with site safety rules, employee handbook, and department process workflows., • Coordinate duties of the warehouse and crating departments, communicating with managers., • Instruct and train personnel according to company policy and ensure documentation is completed., • Inspect, measure, and design packaging in compliance with company standards., • Secure the facility at closing, ensuring all access points and storage areas are locked., • Ensure compliance with ISPM15 Standards and maintain lumber usage logs., • Manage and lead onsite team, escalating issues to department managers., • Travel to offsite locations for industrial packaging and crate building as required., • Support business needs with flexibility in working hours and willingness to travel abroad., • Follow building plans using software such as BoxCAD and Crate Pro.Essential Skills, • Mechanical aptitude and general labor skills., • Experience in production, inventory, assembly, and shipping and receiving., • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and measuring tapes., • Carpentry and mechanical assembly experience., • Ability to read measuring tapes and blueprints.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Knowledge of company safety rules and employee handbook., • Effective communication and writing skills., • Familiarity with ERP systems and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)., • Basic math skills and the ability to resolve warehouse equipment issues., • Oversight and management capabilities.Why Work Here? Work Environment The position is located in a non-climate-controlled distribution center supporting Siemens Energy. The facility can be cold in winter and hot in summer, and employees must be able to stand for the duration of their shift. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Charlotte, NC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
