Job DescriptionDescription: Hybrid 4 days on-site, 1 day work from home in St. Louis, MO Our client seeks a Senior Platform Engineer to enhance CI/CD pipelines, remediate security vulnerabilities, and maintain hardened Docker images that support hundreds of developers. The role will operate within a Scrum team and focus on GitLab pipeline optimization, container security, and compliance. The engineer will also contribute to Terraform modules, AWS services, and modernization efforts including a test suite conversion to TypeScript. On-call participation for incident response and platform support is required. Due to client requirements, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. Rate: $120.00 to $140.00/hr. w2 Responsibilities: • Enhance and optimize GitLab CI/CD pipelines across 15+ repositories with standardized templates., • Improve pipeline reliability, performance, and cost-efficiency, including Maven and NPM build best practices., • Execute CVE remediation using Trivy, Snyk, and AWS Inspector following established processes., • Maintain security compliance with CIS benchmarks and DISA STIGs for platform offerings., • Coordinate remediation efforts with application teams and document security patterns., • Maintain and update base Docker images in ECR and Artifactory to meet compliance standards., • Implement image scanning and validation processes and support base image adoption., • Develop Terraform infrastructure-as-code modules for platform services., • Manage AWS resources via CLI and services including EC2, ECS/EKS, ECR, Lambda, IAM, VPC, and S3., • Support PostgreSQL and Oracle PL/SQL database operations., • Convert an existing test suite from Bash to TypeScript., • Refactor legacy platform components and improve observability., • Create and maintain internal documentation and provide developer guidance in support channels., • 5+ years in platform or infrastructure engineering., • Proven experience supporting large-scale developer platforms., • Strong proficiency with TypeScript., • Hands-on expertise with AWS CLI and core services (EC2, ECS/EKS, ECR, Lambda, IAM, VPC, S3)., • Advanced GitLab CI/CD pipeline engineering and template standardization., • Docker image management with ECR and Artifactory., • Infrastructure-as-code with Terraform., • CVE remediation using Trivy, Snyk, and AWS Inspector., • Knowledge of security compliance frameworks including CIS benchmarks and DISA STIGs., • Experience with Maven and NPM build processes., • Proficiency with PostgreSQL and Oracle PL/SQL., • Demonstrated DevSecOps practices and mindset., • On-call and incident response experience.
