To learn more about who we are and who we serve, we encourage you to visit our website: GENERAL PURPOSE:The Behavior Interventionist has primary responsibility for overall instructional behavior interventions. The Behavior Interventionist is the second (to facility staff) line of escalation when student issues arise and additional support is needed and provides effective leadership to motivate and guide staff and students toward the successful accomplishment of established program goals and objectives. The individual will be considered key personnel and trained in and be expected to utilize CPI techniques. The individual is also responsible for driving the achievement of the schools objectives by supporting classroom management, tutoring, classroom instruction and computer lab assistance, under the direction of the school leader. This position executes the behavior modification system and processes. The individual works with individuals and groups in support of socially significant outcomes in education, mental health and rehabilitation. Coordination of activities and timely communication with the schools responsibility thinking advisor is critical. The behavior interventionist subscribes to the vision, mission and values of Integrity Educational Services and the applicable academy. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Assists and supports day to day instructional and behavioral interventions; provides positive redirection and support to students who exhibit inappropriate behavior in the classroom setting; goal is to move students to a less intensive behavior tier within a short period of time., 2. Collaborates with classroom teacher(s), facility staff, outside agencies, families, and others as needed for the purpose of creating and implementing behavior intervention plans as team., 3. Participates in and functions as a positive team member for the purpose of enhancing/sharing knowledge and skills for delivering best practices., 4. Manages advanced disciplinary issues and secures assistance from appropriate staff/personnel as needed., 5. Assists in the development of school policies and procedures; supervises students in accordance with operational policies and procedures to ensure the safety and security of all staff and students; performs all duties in compliance with all terms and conditions of contractual agreements., 6. Participates in the planning and direction of school operations in fulfilling the goals and objectives of the school and assists in the establishment of policies and procedures to provide leadership and control in the event of a school crisis., 7. Facilitates implementation of schoolwide PBIS incentive programs, including necessary data tracking. Serves as Data Team lead., 8. Participates in the preparation of student behavior plans. Meets regularly with individual students or groups of students as needed during on-going development of behavior needs/training for individuals or groups as defined by behavior plans. Recognize and follow procedures when disruptive, abusive or dangerous behavior occurs., 9. Effectively interact with students, family members, teachers, agency staff and the public, including both oral and written communications., 10. Understand and address the needs of students with special needs., 11. Coordinates activities and has timely communication with the schools responsibility thinking advisor., 12. Participates in a wide variety of academic, vocational, and motivational activities on campus; serves as advisor and positive role model for assigned students., 13. Mentors students in the general care and maintenance of school and equipment; may mentor the safe handling of program property and equipment according to establish policies and procedures ensuring all appropriate safety measures and precautions are observed., 14. Learn from training methods, techniques, and materials to be used in instruction and in behavioral interventions with students., 15. Apply knowledge of behavior intervention strategies, behavior analysis, developmental, emotional and behavioral disabilities, non-violent verbal and physical crisis intervention techniques and first-aid skills., 16. Maintain confidentiality of students records and communications., 17. Collect data regarding the implementation of Behavior Intervention services., 18. Completes/reviews reports and logs as required; including Incident Report forms regarding the data collected as part of the delivery of behavior intervention services. Read, interpret and apply rules, regulations and policies., 19. Tracks truancy, follows the guidelines established by KISD and completes all required paperwork and logging in the student database. Conducts home visits as needed., 20. Maintains appropriate records for the purpose of preserving the progress of the behavior interventions. Assist with the maintenance of students files and the retrieval of pertinent information., 21. Be a designated key personnel. Will be trained in and expected to utilize CPI techniques when addressing student behaviors., 22. Coordinates/maintains a productive daily schedule to meet schedules and deadlines for the purposed of completing reports, instructional activities and other duties. Able to work under limited supervision., 23. Attend school related activities including, but not limited to, parent meetings and IEP meetings., 24. Perform all other duties, as assigned. Education and/or Experience: Bachelors degree preferred and one to two years experience within an educational or youth service program, preferably working with troubled youth; or any equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience. Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to students, parents, and other employees of the organization. Mathematic Skills: Ability to do simple computations, calculate percentages, and use a calculator. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Computer Skills: Knowledge of Microsoft and/or Google applications and/or willingness to learn needed computer skills specific to this position. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: N/A Training: Must participate in and complete annual training, Professional Development, and various other training as deemed appropriate for position. Other Qualifications: Must pass criminal history records search, physical and drug screen, if required. The contracted days will be 185 days/school year.
