Job DescriptionJob Title: Technical Project Coordinator – Private Label Spices Job Description The Technical Project Coordinator supports the commercialization of private label spice products by translating lab work into accurate finished product specifications, coordinating production filling trials, and managing samples for sales and cross-functional stakeholders. This lab-focused role bridges innovation, quality, operations, and sales to ensure new and existing products meet technical, regulatory, and customer requirements while supporting scalable, revenue-driving growth. Responsibilities • Collaborate closely with the Innovation team to take developed formulas and determine finished goods specifications within designated containers by performing key measurements such as net weight and other critical attributes., • Translate laboratory findings into clear, accurate, and complete finished product specifications that align with quality, regulatory, and customer standards., • Evaluate and recommend appropriate packaging solutions for various spice products, considering factors such as bulk density and packaging performance., • Plan and coordinate production filling trials in partnership with plant and production teams to test and validate bottle fill recommendations and ensure production scalability., • Serve as the owner of the end-to-end sample request process, including managing intake, preparing and processing samples, and communicating sample status and timing to stakeholders., • Organize and maintain laboratory sample storage by developing and implementing an effective inventory tracking system to ensure traceability and accessibility., • Develop and maintain a comprehensive product library that enables the Sales team to clearly understand the current portfolio and helps cross-functional teams align on raw materials and packaging to commercialize., • Manage the end-to-end bid process, coordinating cross-functional inputs and actions to ensure each step is completed on time and in line with project timelines., • Oversee the accurate entry of SKU-specific details into customer-owned portals in collaboration with cross-functional teams, ensuring data integrity and completeness., • Maintain a strong focus on task and project management to meet timelines, milestones, and deliverables across multiple concurrent projects., • Support product development and production validation studies through laboratory testing, visual inspection, and documentation of results., • Coordinate labeling and sampling activities to support private label spice sales and ensure that production is validated to scale at expected results., • Collaborate with quality, operations, and other internal teams to support product development, quality assurance, and continuous improvement initiatives.Essential Skills, • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Quality, Operations, or a related field., • 1–2 years of relevant experience in food science, product development, quality, or production, preferably within the food industry., • Solid understanding of food product development processes, including formulation, sensory evaluation, and quality assurance., • Proficiency in using laboratory equipment and tools for food product testing, measurement, and evaluation., • Strong organizational and task management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines., • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to clearly convey technical information to cross-functional teams., • Ability to collaborate effectively and work well in a team environment, building strong relationships with colleagues across departments., • High attention to detail and a commitment to precision in documentation, specifications, and data entry., • Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability to address challenges and changing project requirements., • Demonstrated ability to work in a laboratory environment, performing measurements such as density and net weight, and conducting visual inspections., • Motivated, proactive, and results-oriented approach with a “go-getter” attitude.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience working in a food lab or production environment within the food industry., • Familiarity with density measurements and their impact on packaging selection and bottle fill performance., • Experience supporting product development, quality, and production validation studies., • Comfort working with customer-owned portals and managing SKU-level data entry., • Experience coordinating sampling, labeling, and product library maintenance to support sales and commercialization efforts., • Ability to develop and maintain inventory tracking systems for samples and laboratory materials., • Strong collaboration skills with innovation, plant, production, quality, and sales teams.Work Environment This role operates primarily in a food laboratory environment, working hands-on with spices, packaging, and laboratory equipment for product testing and measurement. The position requires local travel to nearby production facilities to partner with plant and production teams during filling trials and validation activities. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including innovation, quality, operations, and sales. The environment is fast-paced and project-driven, with multiple concurrent initiatives that require strong organization and attention to detail. Standard lab safety practices and appropriate lab attire are expected, and work involves both desk-based documentation and data entry as well as time on the lab bench and in production areas. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Oxnard, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $37.00/hr.
