JOB TITLE/LOCATION: Production Control Trainee – Baldwin Park, CA ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB: • Work closely with Materials Manager, team of other Buyers, Planners, Manufacturing Supervisors, Engineers, and Operators in areas of responsibility, • Stock and non-stock order management in a manufacturing environment, • Exercises a key role in accomplishing plant customer service and inventory objectives (Raw/WIP) through effective inventory management/materials planning for assigned commodities and operational schedules, • Works closely with Purchasing Department to ensure supplier on-time delivery is achieved, • Able to foresee potential issues and provide recommendations, solutions, or notify manager, • Issues forecasts to intercompany vendors to assure reliable supply chain performance, • Provides assistance to raw material/WIP warehousing and shipping/receiving functions as required, • Create shop orders and schedule work centers, • Provide shortage reports for Purchasing Department, • Reschedule orders (push in and out), • Review component inventory levels, • Run MRP and create intercompany transfer orders, • Expedite orders with manufacturing, • Work closely with Quality Department to review and disposition non-confirming material, • Report product line performance, • Communicate status of orders to Customer Service Representative when requested EDUCATION: • A High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) 0-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: • Ability to handle fast paced working environment, • Independent analysis/decision-making capabilities, • Project Management skills, • Requires good quantitative and analytical skills,, • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively,, • Needs to be organized and detail oriented., • Ability to communicate effectively with other disciplines, i.e. Engineering, Customer Service, Quality and Manufacturing., • Ability to operate computers and various software programs, including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, etc., • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing While performing the duties of this job, the employee generally works indoors within the office and manufacturing areas. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate or loud. Also, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or to listen. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. **Please note that the salary range information is only applicable for California. The pay range represents the low and high end of the salary range we reasonably expect to pay for this position at the time of posting. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, geographic location, experience, education, skills, qualifications, performance, and business or organizational needs.
