Job Description Job Title: Maintenance Technician III Job Description This role focuses on providing electromechanical corrective repairs and preventative maintenance for conveyance and related equipment in a heavy commercial or industrial facility. The technician independently troubleshoots semi-complex equipment issues, maintains detailed service records, and serves as the primary on-site maintenance resource, collaborating closely with warehouse operations to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable system performance. Responsibilities • Practice safe work habits at all times and strictly follow all safety rules and policies established at the site., • Provide electromechanical corrective repairs and preventative maintenance on motors, gearboxes, conveyors, and other discrete components., • Perform semi-complex maintenance tasks, including equipment trial runs, investigative tests, troubleshooting equipment failures, repairs, and overhauls., • Respond to and correct semi-complex equipment faults in a timely and effective manner., • Install, repair, service, and maintain conveyance equipment, including roller and belt conveyor systems., • Conduct routine inspections of equipment and systems to identify potential issues and implement preventative measures., • Log all service work performed, including detailed notes on repairs, downtime during repair, and equipment service requests., • Maintain accurate documentation of all inspections, maintenance activities, repair work, and equipment failures., • Participate in assessing equipment and product performance based on field support data and recommend modifications or improvements to enhance reliability and efficiency., • Perform maintenance on tools, test equipment, and related devices to ensure they remain in proper working condition., • Work cooperatively as part of a team with warehouse operators and other on-site personnel to support smooth facility operations., • Identify problems as they occur and take appropriate steps to solve them when issues are not difficult or highly complex, escalating unusual or complex problems when necessary., • Serve as the sole on-site technician, managing all maintenance responsibilities and handling additional duties or tasks that arise in the course of supporting the customer site., • Strong electromechanical skills, including hands-on experience with motors, gearboxes, and other discrete mechanical and electrical components., • At least 5 years of mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience in a heavy commercial or industrial facility., • A minimum of 3 years of experience installing, repairing, servicing, and maintaining conveyance equipment such as roller and belt conveyors., • Proven ability to perform preventative maintenance and corrective repairs on conveyors and related systems., • Ability to troubleshoot semi-complex equipment failures and perform repairs and overhauls with minimal supervision., • Experience with facilities maintenance, including working with sensors, photo eyes, and line shaft conveyor systems., • Capability to accurately document maintenance activities, inspections, repairs, and equipment failures., • Demonstrated leadership ability, including managing maintenance responsibilities independently as the only technician on site., • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues as they arise and take appropriate corrective actions., • Ability to collaborate effectively with warehouse operators and other on-site personnel., • Five or more years of maintenance experience is preferred., • Experience as a maintenance technician or maintenance mechanic in environments with conveyor systems., • Background in preventative maintenance programs for industrial or warehouse equipment., • Familiarity with assessing equipment performance using field support or operational data and recommending improvements., • Comfort working independently in a customer-facing environment and handling additional tasks that arise on site. Work Environment The position is based at a third-party logistics warehouse site in Ontario, supporting a large distribution operation. You work directly within an active warehouse environment that uses conveyance equipment such as roller and belt conveyors, along with motors, gearboxes, sensors, photo eyes, and line shaft systems. The role involves hands-on work around moving machinery and industrial equipment, with a strong emphasis on following site safety policies and procedures. You function as the sole on-site technician, coordinating closely with warehouse personnel and adapting to the operational schedule of the facility. The site is planned to remain in operation until October 2026, and work is performed on the customer’s premises in a professional industrial setting, where appropriate workwear and adherence to site-specific safety and conduct standards are expected. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Ontario, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $35.00/hr.
