Job Description Trailer / Truck Mechanic Job Description Seeking a skilled and motivated Truck Mechanic to join our fleet maintenance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a variety of heavy-duty trucks and trailers. This role ensures our fleet operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with DOT regulations. Responsibilities • Perform routine and scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) on tractors and trailers., • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using diagnostic tools and software., • Inspect and service brakes, tires, suspension systems, and drivetrains., • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repairs using fleet management systems., • Ensure compliance with DOT, FMCSA, and company safety standards., • Support shop cleanliness, safety protocols, and inventory control., • Proficiency in diesel mechanics, including the use of hand and power tools., • Ability to perform brake jobs, wheel seals, and FHWA inspections., • Strong mechanical aptitude and experience with oil changes., • Knowledge of automotive mechanics and diesel maintenance., • Understanding of brake systems, air brakes, and electrical systems., • Reefer experience is a plus. Work Environment The position requires working evening shifts from Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, from 7 pm to 5:30 am. The role involves hands-on work with a variety of tools and equipment in a shop environment that emphasizes cleanliness and safety. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Terrell, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00/hr.
