Job Description Senior HR Generalist The Opportunity This is a highly visible, hands-on Human Resources leadership role supporting the full employee lifecycle for a population of approximately 35–40 employees. You will serve as the primary HR partner to leadership and staff, driving recruiting, payroll coordination, benefits administration, compliance, and employee relations while shaping culture and strengthening organizational effectiveness. This role is ideal for a seasoned HR professional who is confident working independently, values discretion, and thrives in an environment where initiative, judgment, and self-direction are essential. What You Will Do * Lead Full-Cycle Talent Acquisition * Manage recruitment from sourcing through onboarding, ensuring a strong candidate and hiring-manager experience. * Own the Employee Lifecycle * Coordinate onboarding, offboarding, documentation, compliance, and record management across all employee touchpoints. * Oversee Payroll & Benefits Administration * Manage weekly and bi-weekly payroll processes and collaborate with benefit carriers and brokers to administer medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, and retirement programs. * Serve as the Primary HR Partner * Provide guidance to employees and leadership on employee relations, leave of absence, payroll questions, benefits, training, and workplace policies. * Maintain Compliance & Risk Management * Manage workers’ compensation claims, injury reporting, FMLA, COBRA processing, and ensure adherence to employment laws and internal standards. * Develop & Maintain Policies and Procedures * Assist in drafting, updating, and executing HR policies that align with business needs and regulatory requirements. * Maintain HR Systems & Organizational Data * Ensure employee files, HRIS data, and organizational charts remain accurate, secure, and audit-ready. * Act as a Culture Steward * Foster a professional, approachable, and trustworthy HR presence that employees feel comfortable engaging with while maintaining strict confidentiality at all times. * Operate Independently with Confidence * Function as the primary on-site HR resource, proactively solving problems, learning new processes, and making sound decisions with minimal day-to-day oversight. What You Will Need Experience & Background * 10–15 years of progressive HR or management experience, including leadership responsibility and direct employee support. * Experience “managing” or supporting a workforce population (approximately 35–50 employees), even if not supervising direct reports. * Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent professional experience. Payroll & Systems Expertise * Hands-on payroll experience strongly preferred — ADP experience is highly desirable. * HRIS experience required; ADP preferred, but strong proficiency in systems such as Paycor, Paychex, Workday, or similar platforms is equally valued. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Professional Traits & Core Competencies * Exceptional confidentiality and discretion — trusted with sensitive information and employee matters. * Personable, approachable, and emotionally intelligent; able to separate emotion from decision-making and not take workplace issues personally. * Highly organized with strong analytical and time-management skills. * Customer-service mindset with the ability to build trust at all organizational levels. * Adaptable and comfortable in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities. The “Figure-It-Out” Factor * A high degree of self-sufficiency and initiative. * Comfortable learning new systems, regulations, and processes independently. * Resourceful problem-solver who embraces trial-and-error learning and continuous improvement. * Confident operating as a standalone HR presence while still collaborating remotely with leadership or external partners when needed.
