Behavioral Healthcare Professions sought: * Psychologist (must be Doctorate level) Psychologist Details * Full Time Schedules * Primarily Monday through Friday schedule * Some weekends may be required * 8 hour shifts available * Contract Position Psychologist Duties * Testifies at Mental Health Commitment Board Hearings and renders judgment as to the patients mentally ill dangerousness. * Provides information to law enforcement as well as legal system officials. * May perform psychological evaluations of patients in emergency protective custody. * May serve as a forensic consultant in assessing emergency hold patients. * Conducts comprehensive psychological evaluations of patients incorporating intellectual neuropsychological and personality components directed towards the determination of diagnosis with appropriate course of treatment without clinical supervision. * May assist the Psychology Director/Clinical Psychology Director or Psychiatrist in the supervision of other psychologists, as well as other professional and paraprofessional treatment staff. * Provides psychological services to patients including observation, psychological evaluations, a review of psychological testing results, psychotherapy, and treatment plan management. * Serves as a consultant to other staff in developing effective psychological treatment programs. * Serves as case manager for treatment of patients including a review of progress, revision, and coordination of treatment. * Provides training to other staff psychologists in the psychological management of patients. * Assists in the establishment of psychological services for various psychiatric populations on an as-needed basis. Psychologist Qualifications * Graduation from an accredited educational institution * Doctorate required * Licensed as a Psychologist by the State in which the position is located. The license MUST be in good standing * 1+ year of relevant Psychologist experience Psychologist Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: * Knowledge of: hospital policies, procedures, and practices governing clinical psychology; the Mental Health Commitment Board hearing process; comprehensive psychological evaluations including neuropsychological and personality components to determine diagnosis for proper treatment. * Ability to: train and supervise subordinates in psychological services; develop effective psychological treatment plans for patients; effective oral and written communication. * Skill in: coordinating the activities of psychological treatment programs; providing legal testimony at Mental Health Commitment Board Hearings regarding rendering judgment as to the patients mentally ill dangerousness; analyzing the psychological status of patients and completing written psychological assessments.
