Job Description LHH Recruitment Solutions has partnered with a fast?growing healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Accounting Consultant for a 90?day onsite engagement focused on process improvement, AP backlog cleanup, and full implementation of QuickBooks and Bill.com. This role is ideal for a hands?on consultant who can quickly assess current workflows, stabilize accounting operations, and lead system implementations from the ground up. You will partner closely with Finance Leadership, Operations, and external vendors to modernize financial processes, introduce structure, and ensure timely, accurate accounting. Accounting Consultant (90?Day Contract) - Healthcare | Onsite Newark, DE Pay Rate: $70-$80/hr. Schedule: Monday-Friday, 100% Onsite Contract Length: 90 Days Start Date: ASAP Key Responsibilities Accounts Payable (AP) Cleanup & Stabilization • Assess current AP backlog and develop a structured plan for clearing invoices, credits, aging items, and unresolved discrepancies., • Reconcile vendor accounts, ensure proper coding, and establish standardized AP workflows., • Implement controls to prevent future backlog and ensure timely invoice processing. Process Improvement & Workflow Redesign, • Evaluate existing accounting procedures and identify gaps in efficiency, accuracy, and compliance., • Map current?state ? future?state workflows across AP, purchasing, vendor management, and month?end close., • Create SOPs, checklists, quality controls, and documentation to improve sustainability. Systems Implementation (QuickBooks & Bill.com), • Lead the full implementation of QuickBooks (setup, chart of accounts buildout, integrations, user roles, customized reporting)., • Implement Bill.com for automated AP processing, including approval routing, vendor setup, and sync with QuickBooks., • Train internal staff on both systems, provide go?live support, and ensure adoption of new tools. Month?End Close Support, • Assist with reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and correcting entries as needed., • Build templates, calendars, and closing procedures to streamline the organization's accounting cadence. Cross?Functional Collaboration, • Work with clinical and operational departments to improve invoice routing, coding accuracy, and documentation., • Serve as a liaison between finance, leadership, and external technology vendors. Qualifications, • 5+ years of experience in accounting, with strong AP and process improvement background., • Hands?on experience implementing QuickBooks and Bill.com (required)., • Healthcare industry experience strongly preferred (clinic, home health, provider group, behavioral health, etc.)., • Proven ability to clean up AP backlogs and build scalable workflows., • Strong understanding of GAAP, month?end close processes, and internal controls., • Excellent communication skills with the ability to train, coach, and influence.
