Location: Pittsburgh, PA (Remote) Classification: Full-Time Status: Exempt Reports to: Chief Commercial and Clinical Officer Purpose The Health Economics Outcomes Research (HEOR) Leader will play a pivotal role in shaping evidence generation to support manufacturer partnerships, payer interface, patient care management, and Business Development activities. This leader will be responsible for strategic design, execution and dissemination RWE informing the value and outcomes of PANTHERx’s RxARECARE model for corresponding rare/ultra-rare disease portfolio. As a strategic leader, this individual will develop the roadmap for RWE and represent the organization in HEOR research that supports PANTHERx’s differentiated value and outcomes. This role requires a unique blend of scientific, HEOR technical expertise, commercial acumen, leadership experience and effective communication skills. This individual will collaborate cross functionally leveraging expertise in health economics modeling, real world data research, RWD analytics and generation of data that informs internal and external stakeholders. This role requires a HEOR leader that is hands-on, able to create a strategic vision with framework, operational deployable plans, and delivery of impactful research that demonstrates PANTHERx’s value and further promotes the organization as the leader in the rare disease space. Responsibilities • Strategic leadership: Develops HEOR strategy aligned with clinical services, portfolio, manufacturer, clinical, business development, and payer needs. Creates a roadmap for research and enablement of HEOR services for enhanced partnerships with external stakeholders across trade and payer. Champion on construct and use of RWD to support PANTHERx’s mission with delivering differentiated clinical care to rare and ultra-rare patients across their portfolio. Informs organization vision and develop executable strategy to leverage HEOR principles for research, data use, and actionable impact. Leads standardization of metrics, SOPs, and data principles to deliver HEOR operational excellence. Strong communication skills to present vision and executable strategy to Senior Leadership and C-suite executives., • Real World Data Research, Model, and Analytics: Serves as the HEOR technical expert and advisor on research design, methodology, and statistical analysis for value and outcome assessments. Creation of models and analytics that inform clinical metrics and demonstrate value and outcomes created by PANTHERx model. Leverages real-world, statistical data and modeling to recommend, test, validate, and track supporting health economics, return on investment (ROI), and healthcare benefit models for client businesses beyond traditional methods. Informs, co-develops and implements data collection strategies, design, and maintain databases. Development of dashboards for newly launched therapies to capture appropriate clinical and economic outcomes. Creates and presents reports, dashboards, and visualizations to communicate findings or influence various stakeholders across the organization including the reporting of outcomes at quarterly Clinical Oversight meetings, • Marketing, Trade, and Payer Integration Support: Partners with trade, marketing, payer, and clinical leadership to leverage HEOR evidence for customer sales engagement and retention. Provides analytical frameworks that demonstrate PANTHERx clinical model differentiation for marketing, trade, and payers. Supports discussion as HEOR expert and leader to enhance customer engagements, improve customer retention, and drive advancement in sales opportunities. Serves as the point person on all collaborative research efforts between PANTHERx and their pharmaceutical partners or payers; as well as on all collaborative internal research efforts that promote PANTHERx as leaders in the rare disease space., • Cross Functional Collaboration: Effective and efficient communicator working closely with Clinical Patient Engagement team to identify programs where HEOR and PRO endpoints would benefit from capture to demonstrate clinical and economical value. Collaborates with marketing, payer, trade, operation, and finance teams to ensure HEOR impact opportunities are informed and executable. Develops and maintains effective cross-functional working relationships to assure accurate, timely teamwork and project execution with assigned teams., • Publications and Presentations: Responsible for RWD publication goals and delivering research via presentation forums. Translates, documents, and presents approaches, processes, and results of complex modeling and statistical analysis into layperson terms for diverse, internal and external audiences. Effective presenter across the spectrum of research forums to business environment. Travels to conferences or other meetings as required., • PhD degree in Mathematics, Health Economics, or Statistics. MS in Mathematics, Health Economics, or Statistics with formal HEOR training may be considered with extensive experience for respective categories below., • Minimum of two (2) years of commercial experience leading manufacturer, provider, and/or payer engagements, • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience working with real world data sets across specialty pharma sectors, life science, specialty pharmacy, and specialty infusion., • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in life sciences HEOR data strategy and evidence generation., • Proven track record of leading teams (minimum of five years)., • RWE study design experience., • Established track record and experience working on peer-reviewed publications and medical writing., • Hands-on experience with structured query languages and statistical computing (e.g., R, RStudio, SQL, Python, SAS)., • Experience with developing medical and pharmacy utilization reporting, establishing utilization trends, and identifying meaningful and actionable observations., • Prior utilization of diverse experience of healthcare databases and data sources (claims, encounters, labs, EMR etc.)., • Knowledge of healthcare/medical economics data such as hospital/physician/ASC claims, utilization data, and healthcare industry coding systems ICD-10, CPT/HCPCS, Revenue Codes, MS/APR-DRGs and APC., • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, conceptualize, problem solve, and disseminate information confidently and collaboratively with attention to detail, accuracy, timeliness., • Solid interpersonal skills, oral and written, and a professional presence., • Ability to generate information quickly and manage multiple projects at once., • Formal HEOR training., • Sales support experience (2+ years)., • Experience in rare diseases., • Proven track record of leading teams (minimum of ten years)., • Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience working with real world data sets across specialty pharma sectors, life science, specialty pharmacy, and specialty infusion., • Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in life sciences HEOR data strategy and evidence generation., • Understanding or experience building and conducting ETL tasks. This position works in a professional office environment or home office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
