Job Description Custom Software Systems, Inc. (CSS) is excited to announce an opening for a Senior DevOps Engineer to strengthen our innovative team. In this role, you will be instrumental in managing and optimizing our Jira SaaS environment, ensuring it aligns with our enterprise project management and Agile delivery needs. Your expertise will play a critical part in developing seamless integrations with other systems, automating workflows, and enabling Agile practices across our organization. Responsibilities • Jira Administration & Engineering o Administer, configure, and optimize Jira SaaS to meet enterprise project management and Agile delivery needs. o Design and maintain custom workflows, issue types, screens, fields, and automation rules aligned with organizational Agile frameworks and guidelines. o Manage user permissions, group roles, and security schemes to ensure governance and compliance. o Monitor Jira license utilization, user growth, and application usage to ensure efficient use of subscriptions. o Collaborate with procurement teams to support renewal, optimization, and budget decisions. • System Integration & Development o Design, implement, and maintain seamless integrations between Jira with other enterprise systems, such as GitLab (source control & CI/CD), and ServiceNow (ITSM), using Okta,REST APIs, webhooks, middleware, and scripting. o Automate data synchronization across platforms to support traceability from planning to release. o Troubleshoot and optimize integration pipelines to ensure performance, security, and scalability. o Partner with infrastructure and cybersecurity teams to align integrations with enterprise security and compliance standards. o Develop and maintain technical documentation, standards, and best practices. • Agile Enablement o Partner with the Agile Transformation Office to translate Agile practices into effective Jira configurations and usage patterns. o Provide technical guidance and mentoring to Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and teams on best-practice tool utilization. o Support reporting and analytics initiatives, ensuring reliable Agile metrics (velocity, burndown, cycle time, etc.). o Support and enable teams to transition from Azure DevOps Boards, Gitlab, Jira (hosted) to JIRA SaaS. Clearance • Must be clearable. Citizenship • US Citizenship Required Qualifications • At least five (5) years of experience in full cycle of software development for the specific task order BI tool, • 3+ years of hands-on experience administering and/or engineering Jira (Self-hosting or SaaS)., • Proven, hands-on experience developing custom integrations with enterprise platforms, especially GitLab and ServiceNow., • Proficiency in scripting (Python, PowerShell, or JavaScript) and REST API integration., • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe) and DevSecOps principles., • Experience in enterprise migrations from Azure DevOps or similar tools to Jira. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities • Ability to design and create a logical data model, a data warehouse schema, and a project., • Ability to create, arrange, and then format objects on a document, with section-specific properties and design concepts., • Ability to create datasets based on intelligent cubes, with derived and summary metrics, view filters, and derived elements., • Ability to create best practices in dynamic dashboards design with layering, grouping, and selectors., • Knowledge of graph types, formatting, flash mode, and widgets, and advanced visualizations with gauge, time series slider, interactive stacked graph, heat map, interactive bubble graph, and micro charts., • Knowledge of document execution flow, performance optimizations, and troubleshooting methodology., • Possess knowledge and experience of business intelligence principles and applications, including requirements analysis, system design, development, unit testing, system integration, and production support., • Effective analytical abilities., • Effective oral and written communication skills., • Work effectively as a team member., • Ability to provide reliable support to client users., • Possess mastery of task order: software tools, platforms, processes., • Ability to use coding tools: SQL, PL/SQL and Toad., • Expertise in using Tableau to create metrics and dashboards. Certificates • `Atlassian Certified Professional (ACP-620, ACP-120, or equivalent) preferred Education • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Preferred Qualifications • Familiarity with Atlassian ecosystem (Confluence, Bitbucket) and marketplace apps., • Experience working in a DevSecOps or Platform Engineering environment., • Experience with information security, privacy, and risk assessment standards, including FISMA, SOX, FedRAMP, etc. is preferred., • Federal government experience is preferred.
