What you'll be doing: • Engagement: Designing bespoke "hooks" to get disengaged learners back into the classroom., • Life Skills: Teaching the essentials of nutrition, budgeting, and hygiene to students preparing for independent living., • Therapeutic Practice: Using the tactile nature of food prep to support students with ADHD, ASC, and SEMH needs., • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS is essential., • Strong subject knowledge across food science, nutrition, and hospitality., • Proven experience (or a strong desire) to work with SEND or Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs., • Lower Workload: Smaller class sizes (typically 4-8 students) mean significantly less marking and more meaningful interaction., • Specialist Support: Work alongside onsite therapists, social workers, and highly trained TAs.
