SEN Teaching Assistant Location: Hayes, UB4 Start Date: ASAP Contract: Full-Time, Term-Time Only (UES1) A welcoming mainstream primary school in Hayes is seeking an energetic and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with pupils with complex needs, helping them access learning, build confidence, and achieve their full potential. About the School The school is a vibrant 3-form entry mainstream primary with a strong inclusive ethos. Staff work collaboratively to ensure all pupils receive the support they need to thrive. You will be working within a specialist SEN class, supporting children with a range of complex needs, in an environment that prioritises structure, consistency, and pupil wellbeing. The Role As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will: • Provide targeted support within a specialist SEN class, • Work with children with a range of complex needs, • Support pupils in accessing learning tailored to their individual needs, • Use PECS and Makaton as key communication tools, • Assist the teacher in delivering structured, differentiated lessons, • Support pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development, • Promote independence, engagement, and confidence, • Help maintain a safe, calm, and inclusive environment About You • Experience supporting children with SEN and complex needs, • Level 2 or 3 qualification (Supporting Teaching & Learning, Early Years, CACHE, NVQ, or equivalent), • Essential: Experience using PECS and Makaton, • Energetic, proactive, and resilient, • Patient, adaptable, and positive, • Strong communication and teamwork skills, • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply) What’s on Offer • Supportive leadership and team environment, • Ongoing training and development, • Long-term opportunities and career progression, • A highly rewarding role making a real difference
