Job Overview:
We are looking for a passionate and skilled Sous Chef to join our small, close-knit team. This is a unique role where you will be responsible for running the entire kitchen independently, preparing and presenting a variety of breakfast and brunch dishes with an emphasis on beautiful presentation. The café serves an average of 15-20 dishes per day, and the ideal candidate must be organized, creative, and capable of handling all kitchen operations single-handedly.
Key Responsibilities:
• Food Preparation: Prepare, cook, and plate a range of breakfast and brunch dishes, ensuring all items meet our high-quality standards.
• Menu Knowledge: Ensure full knowledge and understanding of the café’s menu, including ingredients, portion sizes, and food preparation methods.
• Presentation: Focus on aesthetically presenting dishes, ensuring every plate is visually appealing and aligned with our café’s standard.
• Ingredient Management: Oversee stock levels, manage inventory, and ensure timely ordering of ingredients to avoid shortages. Maintain a clean, organized kitchen at all times.
• Health & Safety: Follow food safety and hygiene practices, ensuring compliance with all health regulations and standards.
• Independence: Operate the kitchen on your own during shifts, from prep to service, ensuring smooth execution and delivery of meals.
