Electrical Supervisor/Construction Manager Welwyn Garden City AND Harlow Location: England, United Kingdom We are seeking an experienced Electrical Construction Manager to oversee and manage electrical construction activities across multiple data centre projects throughout England. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. This role requires strong leadership, stakeholder management skills, and a thorough understanding of mission-critical construction environments. Duties & Responsibilities • Lead and oversee electrical construction activities across multiple data centre sites throughout England., • Coordinate with internal project teams, contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure project milestones are achieved., • Ensure full compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements., • Monitor project budgets, schedules, and resources, providing regular progress updates to senior stakeholders., • Conduct site inspections, audits, and quality assurance reviews to ensure works are completed in accordance with project specifications and standards., • Identify, manage, and resolve construction-related issues, escalating risks where necessary., • Support procurement and logistics planning for construction materials, equipment, and site resources., • Maintain accurate project documentation, reports, and records throughout the project lifecycle., • Foster strong working relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, and relevant authorities., • Represent the organisation professionally with both internal and external stakeholders., • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all applicable data protection and information security requirements. Essential Skills & Experience • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline., • Professional certification such as PMP, RICS, CIOB, or equivalent is advantageous., • Minimum of 7 years' experience in construction management, ideally within data centres, mission-critical facilities, or other critical infrastructure projects., • Proven experience managing subcontractors, permits, risk mitigation, resource planning, and site logistics., • Experience developing and implementing construction programmes for electrical infrastructure, including high-voltage distribution systems, ICT infrastructure, fibre optics, and structured cabling., • Strong understanding of electrical installations and the ability to oversee works to ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and applicable regulations., • Knowledge of high-voltage electrical systems, ICT architecture, fibre-optic networks, and relevant UK electrical standards and regulations., • Experience managing commissioning and testing activities for electrical systems., • Strong leadership, organisational, and project management skills., • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities., • Proficiency in construction management software and project controls tools., • Ability to manage multiple projects and workstreams simultaneously., • Experience working on large-scale, multidisciplinary construction projects. UK-Specific Requirements • Flexibility to travel extensively across England and work away from home where required., • Full UK driving licence., • Valid CSCS card., • SMSTS certification is essential., • A thorough understanding of UK Health & Safety legislation, including CDM Regulations 2015., • Familiarity with BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations) and other applicable UK electrical standards., • Experience working within live, mission-critical environments is highly advantageous., • Previous experience delivering data centre or critical infrastructure projects within the UK is preferred., • Right to work in the UK.
