Management Accountant – Responsibilities • Support senior finance leaders with financial management and operational reporting, • Provide financial advice and insight to budget holders and stakeholders, • Contribute to financial, performance, and productivity objectives, • Assist in improving financial systems, controls, and processes, • Prepare monthly management accounts, including accruals, prepayments, reconciliations, and variance analysis, • Produce budgets, forecasts, and support business planning, • Compile reporting packs for senior leadership and board review, • Deliver financial reports, presentations, and attend meetings as required, • Provide guidance on financial policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, • Participate in tender evaluations and financial assessments, • Act as a business partner to promote best practice across the organisation, • Support internal and external audit processes and resolve queries, • Monitor performance, value for money metrics, and benchmarking data, • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate discrepancies, • Provide ad hoc financial analysis and reporting, • Support, train, and help develop team members, • Lead and manage staff, promoting continuous improvement and performance, • Ensure compliance with data protection, company policies, and statutory requirements, • Adhere to health & safety, equality, and risk management standards Requirements • Strong experience in financial or management accounting, including budgeting and forecasting, • Ability to analyse complex financial and performance data, • Experience supporting and advising budget holders, • Proficient in financial systems and IT applications, • Good understanding of accounting principles, VAT, and financial controls, • Strong communication, organisational, and time management skills, • Ability to prioritise workload, meet deadlines, and adapt to change, • Experience supervising or developing staff, • Qualified or part-qualified accountant (AAT Level 4, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent)
