Description Organisation: Leicestershire County Council Work Location: County Hall Glenfield Leicester LE3 8RA Worker Category: Hybrid working. Salary - 28065 - 31029 per annum (Pro rata for part time) Working Hours: 37 hours Contract Type: Permanent Closing Date: 24th August 2025 Interview Date(s): Friday 29th August 2025 About the Role To support the tracking identification and monitoring of children and young people who are at risk of not receiving the appropriate level of education in line with the local authoritys statutory duties To work across the service department and with partners to ensure the educational needsof children and their families are clarified and responses arecoordinated To provide information signposting and advice to families professionaland colleagues about referral pathways sources of advice and informationetc. To receive requests for service following triage with the Senior Information Support Coordinator following pathways and service guidance contacting referrer family etc. as required. • Provide telephone advice and support to families for example:, • Directing families to self-help resources such as websites helplines etc. and promoting their use as a first port ofcall., • Follow scripts and guidance to ensure families are given appropriate and accurate advice. Be able to identify where the needs aregreater than can be met by advice only and escalate appropriately to Senior Information Support Coordinator, • Providing information about other services which may be availablefor self-referral / openaccess, • Providing telephone support and guidance for example on basic behaviourstrategies, • Contacting families to enable the tracking and educational route for children and young people, • Contribute to a duty rota for the Inclusion and Career Advice helpline taking telephone messages and updates for Managers and caseworkers and offeringbasic advice and. Follow scripts and guidance to ensure families are given appropriate and accurate advice. Be able to identify where the needs are greater than advice support and escalate appropriately to Senior Information Support Coordinator. Please refer to the 7 point criteria giving examples of how you meet the criteria below • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent or demonstrable multi-agency experience evidenced against the headings below., • Experience of providing telephone support and advice to families asking the right questions to get information required., • Experience of working in a multi-agency environment which involves working in collaboration and partnership with colleagues from a range of agencies and services., • Experience of working with financial information, • Experience of working in children or family services within health social care or education context. This may be in either a statutory provider setting or voluntary/community sector., • Experience of applying threshold criteria to individual cases of challenging inconsistency and ensuring that written procedures and guidelines are followed appropriately., • Experience of providing administrative support to a service or programme. An enhanced DBS check is required for this post.
